the Royal Golf Hotel has for many years has been one of the worst run hotels in the Highlands.. The food is 2* pub grub.."baked tattles, Mac and cheese" feature for lunch. I have used this hotel regularly for 40 years and it is a disgrace...appalling management, sub par kitchen and no staff because they dont offer a realistic wage..stay/eat at your peril Sir Gavin Gilkbey, Bt

Many thanks to Philippe and the entire staff at the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch for an unforgettable three-night stay during our father-son golf trip. You simply can’t ask for a better location — the hotel overlooks the first tee at Royal Dornoch, offering a view that’s hard to beat. This charming, traditional hotel has all the right amenities. For American travelers: yes, there’s no air-conditioning — but trust me, you’ll be just fine. There’s a fan in the closet if you need a little extra cooling at night. Breakfast was excellent each morning, the staff were wonderfully attentive, and it’s just a short five-minute walk to the beach on the North Sea, perfect for a refreshing morning cold plunge — which we did twice! I’ve been fortunate to take many great golf trips over the years, but the location of the Royal Golf Hotel truly rivals that of the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews. Highly recommended.

A fuir! Le pire hôtel dans lequel nous avons séjourné. Chambre salle et vielle. Porte entrée vous annonce déjà la couleur . Vue sur le golf et les poubelles avec passage du personnel. Amenties quasi inexistants ( café thé etc en vrac donc non vérifié par housekeeping ), télécommande par terre derrière siège ( ça en dit long ) robinetterie défectueuse , produits à disposition détachés ) des affaires d un des clients précédents étaient encore dans un tiroir. Ne parlons pas du petit déjeuner !!!! La partie self service est des plus déplorables et quand on vous demandez à la carte une omelette ( le basique ) à la place d œuf poche , c est impossible . Je ne comprenais pas la raison mais lorsque la minable assiette est arrivée et que vous voyez l aspect , coupez dedans ( plus cuit que coulant !) mettez en bouche … impossible à avaler , ce sont des œufs pochés Précuits !!! Tout est sale … Bref je n ai qu un mot , jouez le terrain mais ne mettez pas un pied dans cet établissement

Mit Abstand das schlimmste Hotel auf unserer Schottland Reise. Der Unterschied von 4* zu 5* kann doch nicht so extrem sein. Das Positive vorne weg : der Fernseher hat funktioniert. Schmuddelig, sehr ringhörig, abgewohnt, defekte Einrichtung (zu viel zum einzeln aufzählen) , kleine dunkle Zimmer.
