Amazing art deco dining room and excellent service but food not quite so good; nothing wrong or offensive but it lacked a wow factor. The pate starter was not as good as our usual supermarket version and the steak in red wine sauce lacked richness of flavour although the meat was tender. Vegetables were beautifully cooked too. Overall, a bit more like good home cooking than dining out.

Lovely hotel, has the wow factor on arrival , very art decor ,rooms are a little dated , but do the job... We were here for a friends wedding down the road.Easy to get to Would stay again

We were invited to a party this month and we had an amazing time. The venue was fantastic, great food, really helpful and fun staff. Good prices for drinks and cocktails. Easy parking and a beautiful hotel.

Great location for the horseracing and the train station just a short trip away in a taxi. Rooms are clean and a nice selection of coffees and teas. Miniature toiletries in the bathroom very useful. Breakfast was great and the bar area was great too. Have stayed before and we are returning later in year.

Wow! What a fantastic hotel! I am not one for gushing about hotels in general (generally pretty critical if honest), staying in so many as I do for work, most of which are bland and beige corporate chains, but this place was recommended to me by a colleague so I thought I would give it a try while visiting Doncaster for work. What can I say, I was blown away - the 1930's art deco styling is stunning (made me think of the original RMS Queen Mary) and in particular in the restaurant and bar area, but what I noted most of all was the service. Everyone I came into contact with from the Receptionist who checked me (and I am so sorry, i didn't get your name but what an asset you are!) to the bar staff to the restaurant staff - all were friendly, welcoming and efficient. I genuinely felt welcome. I slept very well and breakfast was superb - fresh strawberries in the fruit buffet! I did not stay in one of their theme rooms, mine was a standard double but was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, large and had everything I need. It was quiet and the air conditioning was efficient which was a blessed relief during a very hot July! It's an old building and it's quirky and it's a bit OTT! Wonderful! It's not going to be for everyone but if you want a well run hotel with that is a bit different, then I would highly recommend The Earl of Doncaster. I will definitely be back!
