Getaways at Destin Holiday Beach Resort

Location and pool excellent BUT room was extremely unpleasant. Mildew smell made it difficult to even be in the room. Bedding old and stained. Box mattress old and filthy. Bathtub didn’t drain. I wouldn’t stay again unless rooms were updated and the mildew issue was addressed .

This is a great place on the beach,rooms are a little older, but I don't stay in the room ( but it is very clean and NO bugs ) GREAT GREAT LOCATIONS

Checked In not only was the pool under construction but they’re renovating the hotel. And I was told that we were moving rooms in the middle of our stay. Prior to moving rooms and check out; I informed front Desk that I would be checking out the following day verse staying. Two different front desk(night before check out and morning of checking out) personnel stated I would be checked out and refunded for the night I didn’t stay. I then called to inform ******* they stated they had to call hotel to confirm that I checked out early in order to process refund; they were having issues with reaching hotel. so I provided check out receipt with clerks information and hotels’ accurate phone number. After 3days I got notification saying I wouldn’t get a refund. I will be contacting my legal team on this matter.

Great Place to Stay The resort is under renovation, but that did not interfere with our stay one bit. Our unit was clean and the view was wonderful. I would highly recommend this resort. The beach was uncrowded in comparison with the resorts around it and thus was the cleanest beach we saw on our beach walks. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating.

This resort is one that caters to vacationing families and middle aged to older folks. In the month of March, it is a very big deal knowing that there is a great resort is better suited for people like myself. Therefore, that means that people like myself can rest easier knowing that we can stay at the resort and enjoy our vacations without having to deal with college spring breakers. I do want to note that when reading previous reviews, I saw some talk about the age of the resort. Me personally, I knew that this is one of the older resorts in the area but they have done a very good job maintaining it and have clearly remodeled it over the years. Yes much of the furniture is not brand new but it has been maintained very well over the years which to me is more important than how new the furniture is. Therefore, the resort has ensured that it is still a great place to stay at regardless of how long it has been since it opened. Overall, it would be nice if the resort could do something in a future remodel to ensure that units are better insulated from the noise from heavy winds. I also wish it would be possible for them to increase the size of the shower in the main bathroom in the units but due to the nature of the unit, it is likely not possible. That being said, neither of those things are deal breakers and if I decide to go back to Destin at some point, this resort would be up towards the top of my list in terms of places where I would want to stay at.

Large rooms and an elevator for us old ladies to get up to our room on the 5th floor...which by the way had a spectacular view of the beach with out competing with the high rises on either side of us. The water the bluest ever and the sand white as sugar. The pool was warm and the hot tub so relaxing...we did eat at the free meals offered like hotdogs and the breakfast, but we did miss a few. Perfect location for a lovely week and the place was lovely with cozy beds and couches and plenty of room.
