The hotel has undergone a nice cosmetic remodel, but they didn’t improve the infrastructure. As a result, our bathroom (Room 311) couldn’t provide a hot shower 2 of our 3 nights. When paying over $1k per night, that’s unacceptable. The hotel engineer said the 3 floors for rooms ending in “11” share one circulation pump and no tank, and the line gets full of air. Well if that’s true, fix the problem. Also the tiny fitness room was a joke, with just 1 yoga mat and no room to stretch. Also, not enough power outlets for all our devices. And the room safe is in a cabinet above a small drink refrigerator. The safe was so hot I decided not to put my devices in it. Didn’t want to cook my iPad. Also, only 2 old slow small elevators and no service elevator. Make sure you know how to exit in an ER, because the 2 wings of the hotel don’t really connect. It turns out the beach is about a half-mile hike down a steep slope and across the train tracks and a congested beach street. Seeing the CA Coastside train pass by in a tiny space next to beach front homes was really mind-boggling. Better see that now, as hubby says the track is falling into the ocean. My complaining aside, the hotel service and food was excellent, the restaurant had an opera singer at Sunday dinner, a convenient walk to some great restaurants, and fiber-speed internet. Also had a ton of guests with dogs. There were double weddings every day and the hotel lobby was incredibly noisy, so it seems to be a popular venue. Just not one we will return to.

The bed was so comfortable, the atmosphere was incredible, it's such a great place overall.. The views from the pool area to the ocean are breath taking.. the rooms are spacious and the decor fits the vibe..

i stay at luxury properties often and feel this resort misses the mark on various points of service for charging luxury rates. I was totally taken back when after booking 2 rooms for a week, their spa only offers guests a day pass for 45$ a person ... so offerings like steam room and sauna are not offered complimentary to paying guests. in addition, for cars they charge 65$ a day to park. when asking if I could pop in to use the sauna for 30 minutes, they said for 45$.

Inefficient and slow check-in. Insufficient number of pool staff and some very inexperienced. Doug, the pool shuttle person was incredible-your best staff by far. Your valets were great as well. Rooms in dire need of upgrades and repairs/furniture marred, chairs stained...

This place is becoming our home away from home. We had fun at your after races party! Good food and amazing service all around. A big shout out to the boys out front! They are amazing. Thank you Josh, Sol, Doug, Sean and Dennis. Sydnie at the desk was so kind and a big thanks to Chris in the lobby for finding my phone! Life saver. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Most snooty hotel ever. Arrived after a long workday in LA to the worst hotel staff ever. Unbeknownst to me the hotel was having some party for horse racing. I had no interest in the ongoing frat party and just wanted to pick up the room keys to a room my husband had already checked in to. But first I was verbally accosted because I did not have a wristband. What? I just want to get the key to my room and had no interest in whatever party was happening. After being told to speak to this person and then that person and then referred back to the same person I started with, one kind lady was able to get me to the front desk so that I could pick up my key. Ok fine, I get to the room and then step out to get a drink from the bar. First question, “where is your wrist band?” “Um, it’s in the room.” I don’t even care about this middle age frat party. I try to order a glass of wine and all they had was the most foul tasting grape flavored concoction I have ever tried. Yuck! So I walk down the street to get a bottle of decent wine. At this point, I just want to go to my room. Then I am stopped by at least 4 people telling me that I can’t bring my own bottle of wine to my own hotel room. What? Are you kidding me? Worst hotel customer service experience ever! And please tell the staff that, “We have this party every year” is not the right answer. Had no interest in this stupid party and just wanted a relaxing evening in my over priced hotel room. Hire better people.

This is a beautiful property with even better service! I was treated with complimentary champagne as well a room upgrade from Ashlee at the front desk and the valet staff was very accommodating. The food was amazing at the all the dining outlets, and our drinks from the coffee shop in the morning were so good! Definitely will be coming back!
