The hotel is lovely, but be careful when booking your room, the view from the Coast rooms is only when you are standing on the balcony, not from the window. Very disappointing to pay $1000 more for a room over the weekend and not have the view I was expecting.

The staff took such good care of us. We arrived tired and hungry after a day of travel, just after closing time, to a full restaurant and bar. Each restaurant around the area was closed. Our server, Sirroc, was attentive, quick, friendly and made us feel unrushed and welcome. The food was perfect, delicious and top tier. We highly recommend this restaurant.

L’Auberge Del Mar is my home away from home. Great service throughout, from Shawn at valet with his excellent recommendations, housekeeping staff will always keep your suite stocked and Chris’s wonderful professionalism at the front desk. L’Auberge Del Mar never disappoints.

L'Auberge Del Mar is a great way to wind down/escape from the big city (overcrowded vibes). The property is quaint and beautiful. The service is top-notch and the beach is perfect. My family have been twice and we'll definitely be back for a third time.

The lead up to this one night special occasion was fantastic. Emails, texts, General Manager Carlos's special invitation, and other correspondence was most welcomed. Unfortunately, upon arrival at L'Auberge the build up excitement quickly evaporated. The front desk clerk (oriental girl) was not in listening mode. As we expressed in our email prior to arrival, we were going to the Del Mar Race Track. Post time – 2pm. We requested the room to be ready at 1:30pm so we could change outfits and get the luggage squared away. Even after evoking General Manager Carlos's email to me and mine to him, the desk clerk virtually ignored us. Her retort, “the room is not ready and we will text you when it is.” I replied when will that be - “We're not sure.” When I returned one hour later another incompetent front desk clerk pretty much ignored me again. “We don't make promises about the readiness of our rooms.” So, we change in the lobby's bathroom, check the luggage, and get the shuttle to the track. At this point, I am fuming! The room is ready text arrived at 3pm while we were at the Race Track. Total bill for a basic room overlooking the parking lot was $1,100 for one night. No food and no drinks on the bill! There are too many hidden gems in San Diego to put up with this seemingly entitled hotel, it's staff, and over the top prices. Look elsewhere to drop a grand for one night!

The service here is top notch. We stayed for two nights while visiting for a family wedding. The wedding, which was held on the terrace at L'Auberge was an amazing event, and staying on site at the resort put it over the top for us. With breathtaking views, especially at sunset, and attentive service by all the staff, I can't think of a better place for such an event. My husband and I had a terrific time, and we'd highly recommend L'Auberge to others in the future.
