The boss is a young couple, with a male child, their family is very friendly. Smiling, like the guests at home.
Datong tap water is not good, the young couple provides free buckets of water for guests.
The rooms are clean and have a generous table, which is very convenient for self-driving tours (more things).
Next time I go to Datong, I still live in Xiayang Hotel. It is not to run wrong, Datong has two ”Xiayang”, this is the mining area.

YYanyYanI am from Malaysia, totally obsessed with this place and location, the person in charge, the lady explained to us the story and the history of this 2000 years old building Old Pipa ,I know is the old building with historic but didn't know the much story behind until I Google it, very appreciated that we still able to enjoy such a beautiful and well maintained room and building . The room come with a/c,hot shower smart toilet bowl, slipper and toothbrush and kettle. Breakfast is good. Love it. Hope people that come to stay here spent some time on the architectural and antiques that display in the duilding. Will definitely introduce to my friends and family if they visit 山西。

It was already past 1 a.m. when we arrived at the hotel, and the staff was still waiting for us. They slept until noon the next day and actually left us breakfast and lunch! DDzintarsThe hotel is really good and convenient. It's in a walking distance from the Ancient City and Walls, there are several small shops and local food stalls around it. The breakfast is completely Chinese style, but it's good.
The gym is very small, in fact, not even a separate room, just very few machines, but it was not that important for us.
Personnel are very helpful. Everyone did their best to make our stay comfortable. Especially, the manager Kristina - she is very kind, helpful, assisted us a lot, with some practical things and some advice, when it was necessary.
Definitely, will stay here another time.

The lobby is magnificent, the reception service at the front desk is in place, and the breakfast is as good as always! I booked two different room types for two days. Xiaofeng at the front desk especially helped to upgrade the room type. I give it a thumbs up 👍🏻. I will patronize it again next time I travel.

From the moment you step into the hotel lobby, you can feel the warm service attitude of the hotel staff. The floor attendants and lobby managers also make people feel at home: the temperature is cooling down today and the wind is very windy outside. Facilities: very old, the room has a strong dusty smell, the door and the wall seem to have a gap, and there is still a big crack after closing it. The door next door makes a buzzing sound when it closes. I wanted to park the car underground, but I regretted it when I went down. There is no need to rebuild the set for shooting a horror movie in that environment;
Hygiene: The mottled shower head silently tells that it has been in service for a long time. The white towel is a little black. I don’t know how many times it has been washed. The room is facing the sun, which is unbearable in this season. The room temperature is close to 30 degrees Celsius. The miserable thing is that there is no vacancy. Adjust, called the front desk and they said it won't be hot at night
Environment: It should have a government background, the garden environment is still commendable, but you can still hear people singing outside the room at 10:30 pm, and someone set off firecrackers before 6 am, if it's a wedding, then we are unlucky

In Datong Ancient Town, it is very convenient to go to many attractions. The ancient city itself does not charge extra fees. Only the larger attractions will charge additional tickets. It is very convenient to eat/shopping. However, you cannot rent bicycles in the ancient city. It’s particularly interesting to communicate with other bedmates and get first-hand information.
In particular, there is a shaved noodle shop on the second floor that is particularly delicious! The first floor is a Hanfu rental shop!
