Firstly, we are UK citizens. On arrival we were greeted by about 4 members of staff and then I was asked for ID which was scanned. I know this is common practice when abroad, but is a bit overkill in your home country and I wonder what they do with it? This place is more like a hostel which doesn’t start serving breakfast until 9am, which is late by most accommodation standards in the UK and abroad. The reception is not manned before 9am. When booking (6 months ahead) I requested a larger bed or 2 beds. We were shown to a very small double room with one side table and no fridge. The room on initial inspection looked ok but a bit tired round the edges. There were only 2 towels, nothing to dry your hands, no mat for the shower (the floor therefore became slippery). The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. We had tea and coffee facilities but no spoons to stir the drinks. Another single guest (who arrived after us) had a room with 2 beds. The room had aircon which worked well. The shower worked ok, the shower door wasn’t great, you had to force it to close. The TV was small but ok. The mirrors weren’t that well hung up. One of the windows wouldn’t close (the room was ground floor), so this was a security issue. I had to put my food in the staff fridge and then the staff member (when I rang them in the morning as reception was not manned) couldn’t find it initially as it was under the counter in the Indian Restaurant (ran by the same people). We cut our 2 night stay short. The location is quite remote but handy for brands hatch and I’d guess all the patrons were going to the circuit. There are only 2 places to eat within walking distance, an American diner and the Indian Restaurant. We would not stay here again, there are much better options locally. I suggest you avoid this hostel. I gave the “hotel” a chance to respond before posting my review online and they have not responded.
