Loved the hotel. Rooms are spacious, located just on the Mall, and food is good. Try to book the room with the terrace if you are visiting in winter or spring. The suite on the ground floor is also good. As it is a heritage property, some fixtures might be creaky, but that is not a showstopper.

I've never started at any place which felt more of a waste of money than this. We paid approx 8k+ a night which by no means gets u a very basic stay, and the disappointment began right after reaching Darjeeling when we realised that the hotel was not accessible by car. The last stretch was to be reached on foot. This is not mentioned anywhere and could be a concern if u are accompanied by old or differently abled people. Ideally, the hotel, knowing that we were expected, should have communicated where we should get dropped and sent a porter proactively but we spent 40 mins waiting on the street after a long tiring journey to be taken to the hotel. Then we were told that the 3 nights we were there for, we would need to change rooms every night as there was some confusion with our booking. The description says "luxury" but nuthin about this property gets remotely close to luxury. The curtains, upholstery, furniture all scream tacky!! It doesn't end here, from the dinner order only half the items were delivered and those too were wrong. The room mentions the breakfast time as 7, however we weren't served breakfast till 8.30 and that too after us sitting on their heads and finally receiving basic stuff. We ended up not having breakfast here the rest of the 2 days as we were getting late for our sight seeing tours. The staff is not one bit courteous and highly inexperienced and untrained. The room was not cleaned, bed not made and we were given some lame excuses. You are given 2 half litre bottles for a day between 2 people. This place is a joke!! To top it, the manager, Vikrant, tried to make a quick buck by asking us to pay 2000 for the dinner we ordered when the bill was actually just 1000. This place is a rip off!!

A number of poor experiences with this hotel: First, please note that this hotel (& many other hotels) are on Mall road where vehicles are not allowed. So your cab will drop you some distance away and you'll need to walk the rest of they having your bags. Despite multiple prior conversations on the phone, the hotel manager did inform us about is resulting in a lot of confusion when we reached Darjeeling Then, they messed up our booking totally and forced us to change to a new room every day during our stay. The manager claimed his computer got formatted hence he lost all records. And he expects us to believe this explanation. There's a pamphlet in the room that says brekfast starts at 7 am but it wasn't ready even by 8:15 am. Staff claims the breakfast times have changed and it starts at 8 am now but there are no notices to inform you about this. Half of the mentioned items in breakfast are not available. To sum up, his is an old property that is being managed very poorly and incompetently by a disinterested staff. The hotel is best avoided.

It used to be a private bungalow of former Tata chairman Mr. Rusi Modi. Most sought after place in Darjeeling. This has been converted to a boutique resort. I am fortunate to get a chance to stay here. It was indeed a lovely experience, best view of mountains and spacious room

This place is simply beautiful, no words can express, view is stunning. All the rooms were mountain and valley facing. Beautiful early morning sunrise view from the rooms. Great place to walk around, with greenery all over. Amazing cool weather. Spacious rooms, good food.

If you are planning to come to this hotel, please be aware that the actual location of this resort is way off from the location showing on Google maps. From the Mall you have to take the path towards Mahakal Temple & Market. Note that 4 wheelers are not allowed on this stretch till the hotel gate. Guests have to walk for some distance. That maybe an issue if you are visiting with senior citizens or small kids.

1. Booked a room in a higher floor with mountain (Kanchenjunga) view, instead they gave us one in the ground floor facing the valley. 2. The extra cot was placed at the foot of the double bed where the mattress was shorter than its length. 3. There was power failure the whole night till morning and the generator was not switched on. As a result we could not get ready for Tiger Hill trip. When asked, hotel staff said that generator was not powered on so as not to wake up guests. 4. The cover of the commode in the bathroom did not stay upright and after repeated complaints got fixed on the last day of our stay. 5. The recreation room was in shambles and was locked from outside. 6. Each staff had their own associations with different tourist cab drivers and would individually pursue guests to take their services.
