I booked this hotel due to two reasons - its a Marriot property now and the beach pier which I saw in the pics. Unfortunately the pier is closed now and there is no direct access to any beach. That was a big disappointment. The other issue was that there is no calling bell outside the room. So the staff has to knock!! If you are asleep or TV is ON, you will mostly not hear it. Bit strange despite being a marriot property.
The pros: The check in and checkout was seamless. The reception is very well managed and the people are very nice and hospitable. The breakfast buffet was good with nice vegetarian options (which I had requested and the hotel was kind enough to oblige). The deluxe room with ocean view was quite large and had a nice balcony. though not directly on the watefront, could view the ocean...it should be renamed as partial view of ocean though. The in room dining food was quite good. Also the location is in a nice part of the town.
Hygiene: Very poor, the room smells very musty
Facilities: The bath water is brownish yellow, very disgusting. The toilet seat has a hole
Service: Poor, low quality. Due to poor hygiene and broken facilities, I asked to change rooms. I called the front desk 5 times in one night, but they were all perfunctory and indifferent. Finally, I checked out early, but the hotel did not refund. Very bad, not recommended!
Delta Dar es Salaam Hotel is ideally located for both business and leisure travelers, offering modern facilities, professional services, spacious and comfortable rooms, and quality dining options.

When we arrived, they didn't clean up the room yet, and told us there was no sea view room.

After we checked out, the front desk secretly deducted a few days' room fee on top of the payment we had already made on Ctrip. We are currently appealing
Some staff employees are very friendly and attentive. Especially Mrs Hamira (reception) and Mr David (poolbar).;But, as a Bonvoy member, I am used having a much higher quality and service. I booked a deluxe room ocean view. Amenities in the room are poor. Mini fridge is not working: whatever I put in the fridge is completely frozen and must be thrown away. curtains in the room are completely broken. At a sudden the door of my room didn't close anymore. I had to be patient There was also not any attention for guests with an allergy at breakfast buffet, such as gluten-free, sugar free, ...

The Delta Dar es Salaam is a charming ocean facing property with beautiful grounds and resort feel. This is my third stay and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Nancy greeted me with a smile at the front desk and made the check in process seamless. She was very helpful and assisted me to my wing of the hotel and made sure I found the elevators ok. I later circled back to the front desk and was helped by Doroth who was also very friendly and professional. Doroth also went the extra mile and escorted me to the restaurant and helped me find a nice table in a busy Valentines night. Her name badge says she is a trainee but based in my observation, she is ready to drop the trainee title! She is a real professional and understands how to make guests feel special. Delta management is doing a great job with its staff hiring. Keep up the good work.

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Dar es Salaam and want guaranteed quality, look no further than this hotel. It is in one of the best areas of town and security is good. The hotel it self, was very nice, with great rooms and great food. All of the staff were very helpful, including helping us on the next stage of our holiday! We are mid-holiday now and have decided to book back in before catching our flight home. They will arrange airport pick-ups and drop-offs if you require. Highly recommended! Many thanks for a great stay Dan & Anne

Great Location - Friendly Staff My recent stay at Delta by Marriott Dar es Salaam was absolutely wonderful, and I cannot praise the hotel enough for its outstanding service and warm hospitality. One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible dining experience, thanks to Chef Adham and his amazing team. Chef Adham went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was exceptional. He was incredibly friendly and attentive, always checking in to see if there was anything more I needed. His passion for hospitality truly shines through, and it made me feel so welcomed and valued as a guest. The restaurant staff were equally impressive—always smiling, polite, and eager to assist.

it's the worst hotel ever. room badly smelling as sewage, cooling system not working, the boiler not working, window in front the garden stairs (all people watching inside the room), breakfast really poor and bad service (no glasses, no plates available). Really bad experience

I was there on the night of 1st Jan 2025 with a friend. -Terrible staff- we arrived and went ignored by the staff for pretty long. We tried to get the attention of multiple waiters passing by, they saw us call for them and did not bother to acknowledge us at all! I had to go to reception to enquire as to whether we were going to get served. - The waiter we got was courteous but did not seem to know much about the menu. He had to go back and forth to the kitchen to make enquiries multiple times. -Long waiting time- Food took about 2.5 hours to arrive at our table. The waiter even asked whether to serve dessert first, which, no. My friend was then told that the dessert she had chosen was no longer available. So she had to choose another and wait another hour for it to be brought out. -The restaurant did not have many guests as to excuse the poor service. -If it was possible to give a worse review, I would.
