The receptionist, Xiaotong, was very thoughtful and upgraded me to a twin room, combining the two beds to create a super king-size bed. The breakfast selection was quite extensive. After breakfast, I took the hotel's free shuttle to the airport, which only took a few minutes.

The first time I came to Dalian, I chose this hotel in the city center because of the high online rating and very close to the city center. The consequences of arriving did not disappoint me, the decoration was very new, and the hotel facilities were all available. The big bed is very comfortable. There is a seafood shop next to it, and Yuhua Market can buy seafood and fruit. I especially want to mention here that the beautiful lady surnamed Cai at the front desk is really very good. I am not familiar with the place of my life for the first time. She recommended me where to eat seafood and where to buy specialties, so that I can be warmed by a foreigner. There is also the aunt who makes noodles and rice noodles in the restaurant. She patiently told me to eat more shrimp skin to supplement calcium, and told me what kind of shrimp skin to buy. Thank you very much, thank you!

1. The hotel is located right smack in the middle of action. There was a street food next door, with McD, Pizza Hut and KFC all within 05 mins of walking. There was a mall with a Walmart hypermarket at the underground level nearby. It is convenient for those who stayed more than a few nights and needed to provision for work in Dalian.
2. There is a university nearby, plus a hill overlooking the Dalian city which you can conveniently walk/jog up to in the morning/evening.
3, The room is sufficiently well spaced, the bed and pillows are comfy, the lights are decently illuminant, the shower water pressure strong and the temperature hot when you need it ; the room is well decorated, there is enough work space on the table, there is a fridge ; the basin, the toilet bowl, and the shower room are independent of each other. In other words, a well thought out room layout. The lighting control is well calibrated, the central air conditioning is quiet, there is a special pop-out plug points on the table for laptops and phone charging.
4. The breakfast is good, a bit of every kind, mainly Chinese dish but some Western oriented salad style vege/fruits for those who need it. Milk is available (not something to be taken for granted in China as milk is not commonly available)
5. There is a free laundry room for use, the detergent and softener are provided free-of-charge ; iron and iron board is available as well.
6. The hotel service is tightly run by its Manager who ensure the staff are always tending as soon as possible to the customers. A special thanks to reception staff 孙晓辉 for patiently helping out with China-specific app for about 30 mins.

Initially, I was a little troubled when I couldn’t find the front desk on the main floor, but a few minutes later, a friendly and helpful staff member assisted me. She escorted me to my room, explained all the services, and allowed me to enjoy the spacious, comfortable room with its unmatched view.
The next day, after running the Dalian Marathon, I was completely exhausted. To my surprise, the same kind lady arranged for me to extend my stay by two hours and even personally helped me get a taxi. I’m truly grateful for her exceptional hospitality—thank you so much!, 悦禾

LLiangguniangOur first stop in Dalian was Jinshitan. The hotel's back entrance directly faces Gate 4 of the scenic area, leading right to a pebble beach. It's also very close to rocky areas perfect for tide-pooling. Our little one had a blast, catching crabs and hermit crabs. The room's facilities and amenities were quite satisfactory, and the service was excellent. Since our child has a habit of napping, the front desk was very accommodating and arranged a late check-out for us. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely visit again.

BBoluoyougongzhuBringing my parents to Dalian this time, we decisively chose Yifang Castle, often called the 'Neuschwanstein of the East'. From check-in to check-out, every single detail exuded luxury, completely surpassing our expectations. The hotel's exterior beautifully replicates the elegance of a European castle. My parents couldn't stop taking pictures as soon as we arrived, remarking that it felt like stepping into a movie scene. During check-in, our dedicated butler provided seamless guidance. They not only proactively helped with our luggage but also inquired about my parents' daily routine beforehand, specifically arranging a quiet, high-floor room with a stunning sea view. My parents repeatedly expressed how comfortable and pleased they were with the stay.

This hotel is in a prime spot, about 3 miles from some of Dalian’s top attractions like Xinghai Square, Venice Water City, and Dalian Castle 🏰. Super convenient whether you’re sightseeing or just exploring the city.
😴 Best sleep I’ve had in ages
Honestly, I don’t remember the last time I slept so well. I got almost 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep, the room was quiet, perfectly cool, and the blackout curtains made the room completely dark, which I loved.
Also, they offer an a la carte menu and even late-night service, which is super handy if you’re up late or get in hungry.
🧖♂️ Highly recommend the sauna + massage combo
One of the highlights of my stay: hit the sauna for about 20 minutes, then followed it up with a relaxing massage right there in the hotel. Total game changer 💯 I left feeling completely recharged.
🏊♂️ as for the pool, I tried to go around three times… but it seems that the hotel rent it to swimming classes for kids?? So it was always full of kids which it’s fine but consider it if as myself this amenity was crucial for me to book the hotel
🍳 Breakfast could be better
This is where things fell a bit short. The breakfast area is… kind of random? It’s in a hallway on the second floor, and the setup felt temporary. Not much variety, and there are no small tables, just big shared ones for about 10 people. A little awkward if you’re alone or just want a quiet breakfast. (I’ll include a pic)

If you order food delivery, you’ll need to go downstairs to pick it up yourself — they don’t bring it up to your room.

AAnonymous UserAn absolutely perfect stay. The InterContinental Dalian boasts luxurious, elegant, and grand facilities. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and inviting, offering breathtaking views of the East Port shipyard and the ocean. Its prime downtown location provides incredibly convenient access to subway and bus lines, and taxi rides around the city are also very affordable. It's just a short walk to the historic century-old buildings around Zhongshan Square. Check-in was a breeze, and the service was attentive and incredibly warm.
A special thank you to DANA at the front desk for her excellent service. I also appreciate the doormen who always helped me with my bags from the taxi. Finally, kudos to the F&B department for the thoughtful gesture of delivering red date and pear soup to my room in the evening, which was a perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. Dalian truly is a fantastic city!

It has an extra-large double bed and a single bed. The room is large and well decorated. It is very close to Xi'an Road subway station. The price/performance ratio is great. I will stay here again next time. I highly recommend it.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very convenient location and is a great landing point. Zhongshan square is a very nice area with a lot of activities and easy subway and connecting bus stations.
The room itself, however, had very dirty walls (you can see if you zoom in) and had a terrible smell. The sheets on the bed were very clean. The bathroom was in dire need of being remodeled.
The staff were very friendly and nice and gave me great advice for things to do. I appreciated their help.
