The staff are very nice and friendly, the place is clean and maintained. The location is great in relevance to the attractions we were visiting. The pool was closed because it is November. My grandchildren & I had a wonderful time & if we get back this way again, we would definitely stay here again.

Holiday Inn Express is not a luxury hotel but this location felt much more upscale than most HIE properties. This convenient lodging could not be better situated in Dahlonega for tourists. The on-site private parking garage allowed us to safely park our car and walk anywhere we wanted to go in the downtown area as restaurants (be sure to try Shenanigans Irish Pub) and shops are a short stroll away. The young woman at check-in was very friendly and extremely helpful even though we peppered her with all sorts of questions. Our room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable and we enjoyed the convenience of the small fridge. The hotel seemed to be rather new but the service was smooth and polished. I don’t think you could possibly find a better, more convenient lodging in Dahlonega.

My wife and myself wanted to do something different. Typically speaking we are beach goers or penthouse big city vacationers. So staying at a cabin was out of our comfort zone. The cabin we had was nice, spacious, and amenities were on point. But the hot tub was A++. The breakfast buffet was decent but the dinner was definitely a step up compared to some of the other places. I would say we stayed about 5 days and went to dinner 3 out of those 5 days and loved the lobster, steak, & meatloaf. The horse carriage ride was good but wish though it was a bit longer and the trails around the resort were okay. But in the end, the location was close enough for us that if we did travel it wasn't too much of a drive (again I am a big city/suburbia person so in my mind I was expecting a drive anywhere taking 1 hour + and this was more like 20 to 30 minutes). The staff were very helpful and friendly. I do recommend for folks to stay here if you are needing a get away as it checked all my boxes for quiet cabin in the woods feel with stuff to do in or near the resort.
