The Butterbean Accommodation

We went on a Saturday evening, the welcome was lovely, the place was warm and very comfortable. There were quite a few people in the restaurant , but the service was very good. We had 3 courses each and the were all presented lovely. The food was very tasty and no silly prices. We will definitely be going back .

This was our second visit to the Butterbean in Carndonagh and our go to place from now on when we stay in this area of Donegal. Lovely, warm welcome from all the staff - you’re given true Irish hospitality here. The rooms are lovely - spotlessly clean, cosy, functional and comfortable. Good tv with added bonus of Netflix for all to use. Powerful shower. The rooms have their own door separate from the restaurant which is accessed by a key fob, so you feel very safe staying here. There is also a free car park at the back of the building. The food in this place is amazing - we choose to eat dinner here as I don’t think the taste and quality could be beaten anywhere else. The restaurant closes at 9pm but there are several nice bars on the same street if you fancy a drink after that time. Butterbean’s breakfasts are superb also - sets you up for a day exploring the area. Carndonagh is a lovely wee town and a great base to explore this beautiful part of Donegal - so many great sights to see - Malin Head, the gorgeous beaches, Doagh Famine Village, Glenevin waterfall, Glenveagh National Park and more.
