Ugly single room on the top floor. It was as if she lived in a dovecote. It’s not even like that, something between a dovecote and a cell. Small dark room with a view of the wall. The bed is like I'm in a barracks. Everything is uncomfortable. There is no stand for the suitcase. The View Room is only open for breakfast. Maybe there are better rooms. But I don't recommend a single room.

Very poor accommodation, especially for the price. Cortona is a small town on a hill with very narrow streets so you don't expect a grand entrance etc. However there is no excuse for having rooms in such a poor state of repair and low quality furniture. The bedrooms overall are poor with marks, holes, etc on everything (see pictures). Generally dark with little natural light. The TV had no English channels despite the literature saying there was. Breakfast is average at best. On the top floor the best thing is the view whilst having breakfast. There is the usual cereal, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and low grade coffee. We would struggle to say this was good value at half the price charged.

The staff at hotel Italia are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel and rooms are incredibly charming. The view from the upper floors is absolutely breathtaking.

Check in was easy. Staff very helpful. Room was large and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Elevator was very helpful especially for getting to breakfast on the 4th floor. Breakfast room had glass all around providing a great view of the valley. Food was substantial. Even had pancakes. Adding eggs would be nice for visitors. Person working the breakfast room was very nice and made us fresh coffee and cappuccino each morning. Highly recommend this hotel. It is very close to the center of Cortona, easy walking to the many wonderful Cortona restaurants, stores and wine shop. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays.

The reception of the hotel was lovely, i run the bell and a kind lady promptly help me check in.
The hotel was really good for the price, it was not a fancy hotel but it was clean and the room and the bathroom were a good size for one person, and with enough space to hang clothing. The top floor where breakfast is served has an amazing view.
The hotel is just steps away from Piazza della Repubblica and close to all restaurants and shops.
I highly recommend this hotel.

We had to change our plans due to the strike of public transportation on the day we were supposed to travel and needed to stay an extra night in Cortona. We were fortunate to find this hotel on short notice and the staff was very accommodating. We were allowed to check into the room in the morning. Breakfast the next day was delicious. Friendly staff! Definitely recommend this hotel!
