I write this review on day 4 of our 9 night holiday. We arrived at 10pm Saturday and the transfer was about 45-mins from the airport. Check in was nice and smooth. We were given sandwiches and some fruit on arrival as the restaurant was now closed. We booked a Deluxe room with a balcony pool view. Our room is situated in Block J. The blocks could do with bigger signage as trying to find the room on arrival and in the evening was a little taxing. Our room is lovely and big with a double bed (2 large singles) pushed together and also a sofa bed that was made up for our 16 year old. It’s a great spacious room with a fridge and free safe and the bathroom is nice and big. All in all a great room with a lovely view of the quiet pool. Nicely decorated and the air con works perfectly. On Sunday it was mayhem in the hotel. Far too many people as the buffet restaurant didn’t seem to cope too well with the sheer number of people. We went to lunch and 1pm and it was heaving with no tables free. So we then went back at 2pm and the restaurant had emptied a little but the available tables had not been cleared away of dishes so we had to do this ourselves and asked one of the waitresses to clean the table for us. Lunch was decent but again the pizza chefs couldn’t make the food quick enough as queues had formed… Now the sunbed situation … we woke on the Sunday morning about 8am and people had literally plonked their towels down to reserve their beds, but then were not seen for hours on end, not fair really as the hotel was so so busy and there was a shortage of beds. It’s now Wednesday and this issue has eased off and there are beds available. I imagine it’s due to the school summer holidays and folks travelling back home ready for the new term to start. I can’t say I’m disappointed 😁 The sunbeds are really crammed together and I totally agree with previous reviews that there’s simply not enough umbrellas !! It would also be good to have some small tables for the side on the sunbeds but due to cramming all the sunbeds in there’s no space ! The food is a bit hit and miss tbh, I’m not a fussy eater and yes sure we’ve paid for all inclusive so variety is expected but then again what would I have ate at home … cornflakes for brekkie, cheese sandwich for lunch and maybe pasta for dinner LOL so you won’t go hungry and there’s something for everyone. The drinks are your usual local spirits, simple cocktails and beer on tap. The beer, soft drinks, wine and juices are self serve but a few times the soft drinks syrup needs refilling and this isn’t kept on top of by the bar staff. Now the indoor evening entertainment venue reminds me of a working men’s club back in the UK 😅 it could do with a bit of an uplift. We’ve only popped in for a quick drink as we aren’t ones to sit around for the entertainment and besides there’s not enough outdoor seating area where the stage is so we have headed out to music square or other local pubs. The location of the hotel is

We arrived around midday and our room was ready. Check in isn’t until 3pm but we got our wristbands and headed down for lunch in the restaurant and some nice sangria. We had a family room which consisted of a sofa bed and a separate room with 2 single beds pushed together. A television on the wall, and a free safe in the wardrobe. There was also a fridge but didn’t seem to keep anything cold. The electrics tripped on the first day and the aircon stopped working for 2 days but they brought us a portable unit which only kept the bedroom cold. Fortunately it wasn’t really hot. As we were on the ground floor we had no balcony but room 201 is right by the smoking corner so watch out for that! There were a couple of chairs, a table and a drying rail outside. You could walk straight out towards the pool for the sliding doors but not until 9am as they have a barrier up to stop people reserving towels. Funny to watching everyone from your window at 9am scurrying around though. Cockroaches found dead in the room every morning. Breakfast consisted of pastries, full English, continental, pancakes, fruit and yogurt etc. Hot drinks machines are available along with soft drinks machines which has lots of different options. Cups seem to run out pretty quickly though. For lunch and dinner there was always fresh pasta and pizza getting made all the time along with meat dishes, fish dishes, plenty of salad and cold pasta dishes. They always had chips but not particularly anything plain for kids. Seen nuggets once I think but there was plenty other choice. Take some water bottles, there are fountains in the restaurant and at the pool bar. Next to the restaurant was a bar that opened in the night with plenty of seats inside and a drink bar and pool table. Plenty of drinks on the all inclusive option but others you could pay for. We didn’t stick around to see any of the entertainment. Animation team always dancing and doing things around the pool area, music playing and pool entertainment etc. The kids section of the pool is probably a few feet deep and stone cold but the main pool is 5ft something everywhere. No inflatables allowed I believe but there was a brilliant foam party on the Friday. Pool is very cloudy and full of bits and hair. There’s a pool bar which serves nice coffees and leftover pasties from breakfast. They also have a fridge with ice creams, salad bowls and fruit cups. Location wise it’s about a 5 minute walk onto the main ***** in Corralejo, where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants. The waterpark is about 10 mins walk away and we really enjoyed the market (Sunday and Thursday) at El Capanerio. Walkways are very dangerous with a lane for scooters and bikes. Need to be careful if you have children.
