Leonardo Hotel Cork

Rachel at reception saved our vacation to Cork! Upon arrival to Cork, our airbnb had visible mold and smelled of mildew. Even though the Jury's Inn was fully booked, she helped us try to find a new location. After spending time in your lobby, Rachel rushed out to tell us there was a cancelation! Not only did she help us get a room, she provided complimentary drinks for ”our rough day”. I can't say enough good things about how caring Rachel was through the entire process. Thank you Rachel and Jury's Inn!
Residence Inn Cork

When we were going in, we had very high expectations since the hotel is part of the Marriott. And I can confidently say, it was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our trip in Europe. Our stay in Residence Inn was over Christmas. 24th of December till 28th to be more specific. Some may think that spending Christmas in a hotel is not the best thing ever, but staff that was with us- Giselle, Rodrigo, Camila, Aishins, Loaura, Amanda, and Tiago made it such a pleasant experience. Firstly, I want to mention an extraordinary dedication to accommodate my allergies. I was told almost every single ingredient in the food that was served and was met with understanding and helpfulness. Sometimes it might be frustrating to eat outside of your own kitchen while having allergies and dietary restrictions, but this is definitely not the case with our stay. Secondly, the room was excellent. We even got a little present left for us. Very clean, very comfortable and absolutely stunning overall. Last but not the least, I want to talk about the staff yet again. I don't think I have ever seen such dedication to create the most comfortable stay than from the team that was there during our stay. I already mentioned the accommodation in the restaurant, but I also want to say that staff was not only very professional, but also very nice and friendly. For sure, all those things created a welcoming environment, but yet again, staff members played the biggest part in it. I am a firm believer that customer service can immediately change one's experience. Huge personal thank you to Giselle, Rodrigo, Camila, Aishins, Loaura, Amanda, and Tiago for such a special stay.
Maldron Hotel South Mall Cork City

Our room was comfortable. It was a good size, modern decor, and modern bathroom fixtures with a large tiled shower stall. The hotel had 2 elevators. activated by room keys. This hotel chain prefers jars of Body Wash to soap. Not having an iphone, I appreciated using the computer in their business room to do emails. There isn't really a lobby area at the entrance, but the cocktail and bar lounge, connected to a small dining area, serve as sitting areas when waiting for others. We arrived tired from a day of travel so we were delighted to eat in the hotel's dining room for an evening meal rather than go exploring for a restaurant. The prices for evening meals in the hotel cafe were reasonable with a discount offered on 2 and 3 courses. The Bacon and Chicken Salad (15E) I ordered was delicious and dinner size, and desserts like Eton Mess were around 6.75E. During the day, the hotel has a coffee shop (scones 3E) with both indoor and outdoor seating. Could take away the pastries and enjoy them in the room where coffee and tea and kettle were free to use. No bakery shop was nearby. The hotel is within walking distance of the English Market (a bakery counter here) and shopping streets like St. Patrick's Street. For us, it was a good choice for an overnight stay with Insight coach tours.

I am in love with their bed!! It’s the best I’ve ever slept on. So in love, I had to investigate to find out who makes their bed: it’s by the natural sleep company. I slept deliciously and I will now get a bed like that for my home. The employees were quite kind and helpful too. Clearly, from the bed alone, they invest in quality. It’s a gorgeous building and exquisitely maintained with a magnificent old world charm. I hope this gem lasts for ages and doesn’t succumb to the boring, overly modern, cookie cutter trope a lot of hotels have fallen into. I will return for sure.
Cork International Hotel

On the positive side, the hotel is easy to reach from the airport, the rooms are large and beds comfortable. The breakfasts are generally of a good standard with a interesting selection. We were able to park easily. Staff friendly and helpful. The areas for us that could have been improved would include the breakfast system for having eggs cooked freshly, as most people abandoned the idea when being told there were many orders waiting to be cooked, so there would be a fair wait. Our room faced West, so by the end of a hot summer’s day, the room was also well warmed! The aircon setting of 19 degrees was hopeless in bringing the temperature down quickly and effectively, and the window only opened a tiny bit. We are still waiting for someone to explain to us why hotels still have winter weight quilts on beds in the summer…we seem to spend more time sleeping on them than under them!!!! Unfortunately this hotel is probably not an option for those on a limited budget.
