Have stayed before, but this time was only for dinner. Everything was really lovely. Have to say it is so nice to have an owner on site welcoming on arrival on a Saturday. A lovely touch and very in keeping with a great family run guest house.ownership and standards go hand in hand! Had a drink outside first , which was so lovely, moved in to dinner a bit later. We were looked after by a young man named David I think. Very young but so polite and professional, a credit to the place. In general it was lovely to see so many young team members working for the summer. Food was delish, obviously the dessert trolley was a stand out . Had dinner there last year and there was an amazing buffet table as one of the courses, which I missed on this occasion, as really had a wow effect! Had our coffee on the terrace, so lovely again. Can’t want to go back.

I was dissappointed that Ballymaloe was not accessible or disable friendly. No ramp. No accessible toilet in main house or in cafe/shop. It was an awful experience for my mother who uses a walker. Not suitable for wheelchairs. The large toilet door would not stay closed. No handrails. The chair in the fitting room at the shop was wobbly and threatened to collapse it was not fit for purpose. It was a very stressful day. During lunch the stairs were hoovered behind us and the laundry went in and out.

My sister and I had booked in for the herbs and herbalism course which was excellent Sonya was just excellent in her delivery and the knowledge we gained from her was second to none. As it was a special occasion for my sister and I she decided to book lunch for us in ballymaloe house hotel and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement service was slow. We both got different menus mine been the Sunday lunch menu and my sisters been the one for the day. We both ordered the mussels with chips and mayonnaise - the mussels were only slightly warm and the chips were just simply not good - they were soggy and cold we were very disappointed

We loved Ballymaloe House. The drive there was beautiful and arriving in the late afternoon on a sunny day was magical. We enjoyed a long walk around the grounds, the pool, and the tennis courts. The food was amazing. My only suggestion is to study the room choices carefully when booking. The more expensive rooms are better. Not that that should be a surprise. But there is a difference, and better to know ahead of time exactly what you are getting. I was glad that a previous reviewer had pointed that out and, as a result, we made good choices for our situation. The staff is very responsive so easy to email and ask questions.

Literally perfect. Rain or shine, I couldn’t fault this stay - the best service, surroundings, drinks, food and bedrooms in the Uk. We had small children, and certainly more adult vibe, but zero complaints - absolutely perfect. We’ll be back.
