Having last stayed in Seaview House about 9 years ago, towards the end of the redoubtable Kathleen O’ Sullivan’s tenure, we had a long overdue return this May bank holiday weekend. With the country basking in glorious sunshine, we booked last minute on a whim and our impulsiveness was well rewarded. The grounds are as beautiful as ever and the garden was peaking at the time of our visit. The house is your quintessential Irish country house, charming and eccentric and needing TLC in parts, but beneath superficial frailties there is no doubt that this old lady has good bones. She also has a warm heart and we were very well looked after by owner and staff from arrival to checkout. Dinner was good country house cooking, very enjoyable. Breakfast was outstanding. Seaview House is a special place, filled with character and charm, in a beautiful part of West Cork. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and hope to return soon

A relaxing stay, very helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful room, lovely fluffy towels. We also had a marvellous evening meal, which was the highlight of our stay. The hotel is exceptionally well placed for visiting Bantry and the countryside around is excellent for long walks.

Faded mid-century glamour in a beautiful location. This hotel was in a lovely location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean near to the stunning Beara Peninsula - the exploring of which was an unexpected highlight of our 13 night tour of the Irish Republic. The hotel itself was rather like stepping back in time to the faded glamour of a begone era. I felt like I could have been in an extra in an Agatha Christie novel. It was very charming with beautiful pieces of antique furniture dotted around but don't expect mod-cons and - as hinted earlier - some updating of facilities at this price point wouldn't go amiss. But all in all we had a very pleasant stay topped off by breakfast served in a lovely airy dining area overlooking pretty gardens.

Such lovely staff -Restaurant is amazing!!! We sadly only got to stay at this quaint, picturesque hotel for one night. Every single staff member was amazing, friendly and went above and beyond for us. A tad dated -Yes. But that’s what gives it, it’s charm. Beds are huge and extremely comfortable, bathrooms are updated and have heated floors. Dinner- Amazing. We dined on the scallops, rack of lamb and black sole, all Devine!! Breakfast -Delicious. We enjoyed the best breakfast I can recall -the poached plums were amazing!! Service-EXCEPTIONAL! We will be back
