I stayed in Rodeen Country House for 3 nights the last weekend in July 2025. I want to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding accommodation provided during my stay. From the moment I arrived until my departure, I was thoroughly impressed with the high standard of hospitality and the attention to detail. What made my stay exceptional, was the friendliness and professionalism of the proprietor's to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. I greatly appreciated the delicious breakfast options and the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Thank you for providing such a warm and pleasant experience. Sophie et Philippe un couple Français, vous accueillent magistralement. Ils vous suggèrent et vous concoctent des journées de découvertes sur mesures , Philippe crayon en main vous indique le lieu magique , la vue superbe , le circuit sur la carte. Le soir vous goûterez une eau de vie qui aseptisera votre gorge , tout en vous comptant ce merveilleux pays, Petit déjeuner de grande qualité, bref tout est bien. Merci Sophie et Merci Philippe, nous reviendrons faire partager notre expérience.

First the positives. The owners are delightful and welcoming. And the gardens are gorgeous. The setting and view is great and it is very quiet. Then the less positive. The breakfast is ok. Lovely to have fresh melon, but for 130 euro or so, I hoped for better than frozen supermarket sliced bread, mini packets of cereal, supermarket cake and plastic mini sachets of jam. We rented the ' suite' which was 2 pretty small rooms and a very small bathroom with a poorly fitting sliding door. The decorations seemed tired, mostly beige and gray and bet curtains making the flatlet seem rather dark and claustrophobic. It felt very dated But the hardest thing to take was a strong and offensive smelling chemical deodorant that permeated the whole flatlet. We suspect it came from the toilet. We couldn't get rid of it. For what we paid we expected better. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend it to others either.

We loved this B&B and had a wonderful stay. Philippe and Sophie could not have been better hosts - extremely warm and welcoming, and Philippe was so helpful and generous with information and tips. It is clear he loves Beara and the area and this shines through to his guests. The breakfast is an excellent continental one - and beautifully presented and thought out. Wonderful tranquil views from Rodeen across to Bere Island, with very pleasant outside seating - I highly recommend staying in Rodeen House and will definitely return.

Stayed last week, 7th and 8th of Sept 2022. Phillipe is a mine of information and we followed his recommendations. Room was lovely with kettle fridge and microwave and decorated beautifully. Breakfast was continental and we had more than enough - ham, cheese fruit yogurt cereal and........ could squeeze own orange juice different breads and toast. Teas and ground coffee. Even though it was self service Sophie checked in on us. Garden was calming and a lovely mix of wild and wonderful. Seats scattered on terrace for sunning and thinking. Yes there is sun.... Very nice sitting room with views over the sea to Bear island. Ah the views there are not enough words for those views and we were lucky to have a full moon and clear skies. Go to Beara, Stay in Rodeen, follow Phillipe's advise and you will not be disappointed.

I stayed here with my sister-in-law. What a great choice! We were met at the door by the wonderful Phillipe and Sophie who welcomed us like old friends and took our bags. To say we immediately at home is an understatement. We felt as if we had our own private concierge in Phillipe and received nothing but 5* treatment for our entire stay. The fire was built up for us each evening, we were given maps of the area as well as great local info on interesting sites. However sitting in the beautiful gardens was just as relaxing. We old girls enjoyed some wine each evening - even this was taken care of by Phillipe who opened and poured for us. Both Vera and I cannot recommend Rodeen more. We have stayed in many B&B's, hotels and guesthouses in Ireland & abroad
