I think this is the best boutique hotel in Viseu. The staff were very friendly and it was a comfortable place.

Hotel Avenida is a 4-star boutique hotel right on the Praca da Republica in the center of Viseu. The hotel staff was warm welcoming and helpful (happily taking our bags in the morning before check in so we could explore the city). English and some other languages are spoken if needed. The room was delighful; spotlessly clean and enormous (although I must note that we did get a deluxe double). The bed was clean and comfortable (if a bit on the firm side). The bathroom had a fantastic shower and a new modern tub big enough for a swim (ok, maybe not, but still very big!). In spite of being right in the center of town, the room was quiet and the electric shades worked perfectly. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, especially the fruit and pastries. The hot food selection was a bit sparse, but the selection was hot and kept stocked. We highly recommend this hotel fo visitors to Viseu.

My husband and I had a fantastic one night stay here. The suite was spacious and clean. The AC worked perfectly. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. I didn’t have any breakfast. My husband grabbed some grab etc, I think pretty standard but satisfied the need. Would highly recommend.

I spent four nights here and it was very comfortable. The people on reception were very friendly and helpful. My room was enormous! There was a good sized, comfortable double bed, a desk with a stool, plenty of wardrobe space and also an enormous bathroom. It took me a while to work out the bathroom had a door, it was one of those that slides, but I was in the room on my own, so not really an issue. The breakfasts at the hotel were nice, with the normal sort of breakfast items you find on the continent, but no cold milk for English people to put in their tea, or on their cereal, which was a bit weird. There is no bar area for sitting in the evenings, but there was a sort of lounge on floor 2 with sofas, where we spent one evening, and brought our own drinks from the shop next door. It is within easy reach of the old town though this is up a hill from the hotel.

Well maintained hotel, well located. Friendly and attentive staff. Good breakfast. Comfort room. It's a shame they don't have private parking and the little sound insulation that the rooms have in relation to the corridors and common rooms...

A wonderful hotel - large room with sofa, huge bathroom, A/C that works, good location, in short, to return. The breakfast was very good, with a very friendly and kind lady. Reasonable price. I recommend the hotel.

Good hotel, great location, good breakfast, top marks for the reception staff who are very polite and helpful, they provide us with all information and are happy to help. The bathroom has an excellent hairdryer. The only problem is that in the room we had to put our suitcases on the floor and there was nowhere to put our suitcases which made it very difficult to take off clothes, I was forced to sit on the floor, I'm not old enough to stay crouched and lowering myself.

For a 4-star hotel, breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. The juice, especially the orange juice, wasn't even natural, it was all bottled juice. Lots of time to replace missing products. Just one type of sliced ​​bread. Employees should be better presented.

Pleasant surprise, I had known this hotel since the 80s for work, on a trip to Viseu, I booked a night, it had been completely renovated, especially the bathrooms, simpler than that, this budget hotel is still friendly, the breakfast is very good and who knows and visits Viseu with an excellent location.

Fantastic!! I'm a makeup artist, and I went for work/leisure. I had an event where I needed to do some people's makeup, and they were incredible! Super friendly, they were immediately available to provide a space to work if needed before the room was ready. They managed to make the room available earlier than agreed, and even offered extra towels if necessary. We were welcomed by a man whose name I don't know, but he looked like Rafa from Benfica 😅 Super attentive, friendly, helpful. Breakfast has a varied choice. The hotel is comfortable, welcoming, warm, well located, definitely worth repeating if you return to Viseu. Very grateful 🙏🙏

The staff is very friendly and efficient. The hotel room was newly renovated but there were a number of problems. The window in the shower, which was covered in mold, could no longer be opened properly, which made the smell worse. Most of the hotel rooms had a large gap under the door. It was very thinly soundproof. Otherwise, it was good value for money and well located.
