Our check in was quick and all facilities explained by Ashley. Due to an electrical issue our heating was not working and the safe would not operate but the manager was very quick in trying to rectify it and even offered us to move rooms. We decided to stay in the same room and the next day everything was sorted. The breakfast was good but we were there for 19 nights so skipped a few times as for us it got a bit boring. We were there in dismal weather but if it had been sunny we would definitely have enjoyed time by the pool in the lovely surroundings. The location is wonderful if you want a quiet and relaxing break but we found that things to do on an evening are limited unless you travel to the city.

A first time visit to an established Boutique Hotel. It’s a pity we did not know about it before. Everything was perfect, from price, check in, stay, food and checkout. A quiet non-pretentious hostelry! The staff are superb by being friendly but not familiar. Rooms are beautifully appointed and really comfortable. Quiet nights with no roundly venue to attract outsiders and partygoers! Very close to all parts of the area as it’s close to the freeway. A real gem.

Wat een heerlijk verblijf. Personeel ongelooflijk vriendelijk. Willen helpen bij leuke uitjes. Ontbijt is heerlijk l. Elke ochtend vrije keuze. Slaapkamers prima. Bedden zijn heerlijk. Helaas vloerbedekking maar elke avond je bedje opgedekt En als t koud is staat de elektrische deken aan. Elke avond chocola op Je bed en het weerbericht. Super verblijf !!! Vriendelijke bediening bij t eten. Ook het diner was geweldig. Gezellige tuin waar je heerlijk aan t zwembad kunt liggen.

Sehr netter Empfang trotz später Ankunft um Mitternacht. Schöne, gepflegte Anlage mit viel Grünfläche, schöne Poolanlage, grosszügige Zimmer mit modernen Möbeln, gutes Lichtkonzept, viele Elektroanschlüsse, Kühlschrank, Safe. Wasser im Kühlschrank ist allerdings nicht kostenlos.

Weihnachtszeit: Hohe Preise üblich, aber 250 € je Nacht, Zimmer nicht im Haupthaus, sondern gegenüber 4 Zimmer nebeneinander, schmucklos. Betten um 16 Uhr bei Rückkehr aus Kapstadt noch nicht gemacht. Frühstück 15 Minuten früher als 8 Uhr: nicht möglich. Kaffee.. naja, Capuccino extra bezahlen (250 € ist ja auch nicht viel) Managerin nur kennengelernt bei Ankunft, danach nie wieder, nicht mal einen Weihnachtsgruß, viele andere Gäste ebenfalls sehr unzufriedene Kommentare: Nie wieder Glen Avon. Abendessen: Nein, aber keine Ideen, wohin man zum Abendessen fahren könne, hilflos. Toll. Dabei in wenigen km Entfernung Constantia Weingut mit 2 tollen großen Restaurants, jeden Weihnachtstag offen. Wenn das eine "General-Managerin" nicht weiß und ihren Gästen dies empfehlen könnte, ist sie dann General-Managerin?

The location and some facilities were good. However the lack of local tv news channels, no ironing equipment in room, an unimaginable breakfast menu and no facilities to entertain visitors, shrouded this stay in some disappointment.
