Great location, able to walk through the vineyard of Groot Constatia where you can do wine tastings at one of the best vineyards in the area. Roughly 30-40 minutes to all Cape Town attractions

It was a great place, very beautiful, located in a safe area, very friendly owners, they were always interested in how things were going and were ready to help. The room was simply amazing, with a very beautiful view. There are also two cute dogs and peacocks living in the house. This is one of the best places to stay in Cape Town.

This is a stunning property, stylishly and lovingly maintained by Jenny and Jacques, supported by a fabulous team of staff. The setting could not be better, with a farm gate leading directly into the Groot Constantia vineyard. There is a pool, super lounge, with roaring fire for the winter, and lovely touches like complementary after-dinner liqueur available. There is tea and coffee making available in all the rooms and also in the bar, which served a beautiful freshly baked cake in the afternoon for a communal tea. There appeared to be a well stocked bar, though we didn't get the chance to use it as I had to cut my trip short, sadly. My friends, who stayed on, took advantage of the house, 'Taxi Service' and had a lift to a nearby restaurant from one of the members of staff, which was very convenient. My friend gets chilly easily and they arrived back from dinner to find that Jenny had noticed this and had put an electric blanket on to warm up their bed! Super service and attention to detail. Breakfast was delicious and was served in a lovely sunny breakfast room. All in all, Devonport House is faultless and I would highly recommend it and we'll definitely return!

We stayed at this beautiful guest house with friends and we had a great experience. The hosts were warm and inviting and the accommodation was classy, clean and peaceful. The vineyards are on the doorstep and the pool was clean and invigorating! Despite liking cold water swimming, I am a terrible baby when it comes to being cold and, whilst we were out, the owners put an electric blanket on my bed. It was blissful to come back to and I really appreciated their thoughtfulness. Breakfast was just right and they ran an honesty bar which was perfect for snacking. I would recommend this peaceful haven to anyone who loves relaxation, calm and a picturesque setting.

The property is stunning and beautiful andctge room we had, overlooking the gardens and pool, was possibly one of the best rooms we have stayed in with an abundance of storage and a separate dressing room. In a lovely neighbourhood and it is just a 5-10 minute walk through the vineyard to the excellent Jonkershuis restaurant. Other excellent restaurants are in the centre of Constantia a short drive away and the hotel has a driver who will drive you down and then pick you back up for about the same cost as an Uber. Breakfasts are just continental which was fine but I would suggest having the butter chilled or not placed on tables as it was all melted in the plastic pots from being in the sunshine of the breakfast room. Complimentary tea and coffee was provided all day, everyday, with delicious cake in the afternoon too. The only negative in the whole stay was that the sunlounger mattresses and some of the loungers have definitely seen better days. Overall, this was a great start to our SA roadtrip and I would have little hesitation in staying here again.

Sehr nettes Guesthouse in toller Lage mit fantastischem Ausblick auf den Tafelberg vom Pool. Saubere, geräumige und schön eingerichtete Zimmer. Leckerer Obstsalat zum Frühstück. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Camps Bay und in die Umgebung. Sympathische Betreuung . Absolut empfehlenswert.

Everything about Devonport House is brilliant. The hosts Jacques and Jenn make you feel at home from the moment you arrive and you are made to feel nothing is too much trouble. The location is a delight. There is even a gate that leads straight out to the adjacent vineyard. The swimming pool along with all the furnishings are immaculate. Having stayed in Constantia for the last fifteen years Devonport House has without question been the best.

This is a fabulous guest house, the owner Jaques meets you and is really welcoming and informative. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is a nice continental buffet style, with plenty of options. There are two pools, we only used the main one, but very clean and a good temperature. Plenty of towels and beds / seating by the pool. They also have a driver, who will shuttle you around for approximately the same cost as an uber, but he's very reliable and that’s important. The rooms are very well equipped, plenty of storage, a safe and comfy beds. The only slight downside (which will depend on the time of year you visit) is there is no air con, but there is a tall fan in the room to compensate. There's an honesty bar, which is well stocked for most needs I would think. We will absolutely go back to stay the next time we are in Constantia.
