Resort Cordial Santa Águeda & Perchel Beach Club

We booked the basic classic apartment - one floor, two bedrooms, one shower and two toilets. Came reasonably well equipped but no oven - come across this before so not a surprise. Decent size rooms. Outside space ok - no sunbeds but a large lounge bed which we didn't use - wasn't the comfiest and there wasn't a great deal of space. Booked breakfast package - plenty of variety but buffet food often lukewarm or almost cold which wasn't great but omelettes made to order were lovely. Have to say though we find plenty we liked. No bar in the hotel - unusual but we knew in advance so were ready for it. Didn't use the beach club at all - went out for drives and walks and then used hotel pool in afternoon - always plenty of beds and parasols while we were there and was ideal for us. Spar shop a nice modern one. Prices probably a bit more expensive than we are used to but absolutely fine for the week we were there. Reception and other staff great. Had one maintenance issue - sorted straight away and any thing else was sorted there and then for us. Plenty of car parking around the complex. Nicely situated for drives up and down the coast and not too bad for the airport. Area near the complex is a bit dour and there isn't much happening in the immediate area. You can walk to the town - it is through the sports stadium car park in park but we felt safe. The opposite side of the town has far more hotels etc and can be reached by foot but it is a bit of a walk away. The famous cement factory mentioned in a lot of reviews can be heard and is close by but it didn't bother us at all. In fact we joked we could still see it from Melenoras! We would stay there again as a base but do prefer slightly busier (not heaving!) resorts where there is plenty to look at from beach side bars/cafes. We had a good 8 nights though and it certainly met most of our needs.

Absolute terrible place for the money you pay. Avoid this hotel/villa - staff are so unfriendly. Wasn’t told Festivals were taking place when we arrived and we couldn’t get a taxi anywhere. All the receptionist was bothered about was that she had to park her car the other side of the village and walk to the hotel due to the festivals. She then told us we needed to walk over a mile to the taxi rank. However all the taxis we got said they can get to the hotel. Only a swimming pool with no bar or eating facilities, was told if we wanted food or drink we would have to walk down to the Beach club. However, you can never get a sunbed because they want paying customers to take the beds so there are only a few sunbed for hotel guest. This is Easter I would hate to think what it’s like in summer. If we wanted the sunbed which were free we would have to pay although not full. We had to get out our villa for 12 on the day of leaving and we asked if we could keep it on but couldn’t. Then to add to it no subbed at the beach club and said if we want a sunbed then would need to pay. Really bad set up. It’s either a hotel feature or not. They want the best of both worlds. And if this beach club wasn’t here then the pool area with just subbed nothing else is very poor facilities for a 4 plus hotel. There are much better places to go. They have the business concept totally wrong for hotel guests and the staff just says it’s a separate business - like it or lump it basically. The town area that you can walk to is dirty and like a shanty town. So add car hire or taxis to your holiday everyday if you want nice restaurants or bars. The other side of the hotel is a massive concrete factory that looks awfully monstrosity. The beaches are awful. Always book through Jet2 but I would suggest they look at this holiday as I think they will start getting lots of complaints going forward. AVOID AS TERRIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY.

Relaxing get away. The girls @ reception were excellent. The beach club was good and had a play area for kids.The onsite spar was good also, which had a coffee/ice-cream shop.
