We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and were able to access our duplex apartment straight away. We are family of 5 - Mum, Dad? 18 year old Daughter, 14 son and 5 year old son. I had read the reviews before going and found certain points really helpful. Firstly, we hired a car from Cicar prior to arrival, this was a breeze dropped off with a child seat the day after arrival to the hotel and collected from the Hotel 8 days later, we just left the keys with the hotel staff to hand over. Driving in Gran Canaria was amazing, it’s so easy as all areas on the coast are reached my 2 major roads. I would highly suggest a car as it works out so much cheaper than taxi’s. It cost us £195 for 8 days, so much cheaper than the uk to hire and fill up with fuel. We loved exploring all the different beaches. Ok so the hotel is in a semi remote location, but this is what we wanted I could not stay in places like Puerto Rico it’s too busy for us. We really liked the WhatsApp messaging service for both the hotel and beach club. So rather than heading over to the beach club for it to open at 11am, I used to message and ask them to let me know when there were 4 single beds available and head over then. We really enjoyed the hotel infinity pool though, there were beds available every day, but 1 which was a Saturday. This I feel is down to the fact that hotel guests have to pay for the beach club beds at the weekends (at a 50% discount) . I did book ahead for the weekends, but ended up cancelling as we opted for a beach day instead. The spar shop on site is great. Took us a few days to realise that the pizzas in the huge fridge can be cooked in the spars oven for you. The coffee and ice cream shop based within the spar are lovely and responsibly priced too ( really missing these now we are home) The hotels surrounding area gets busy at the weekends with campervans. I read a few reviews were people had noted these people as travellers, as someone who was a van in the uk it is clear that this area is a huge pull for surfers, who turn up for the weekend. It’s really lovely to watch the families turn up and surf together. There is a lovely walk to the front of the hotel by the sea, as you look at the sea head to the right. You will come to a small car park, head across this and head into the little town centre there is a beautiful restaurant called La mar Salada the food is beautiful and the cheesecake is the best we have ever tasted!! There are some lovely bars and restaurants in that area. There is also a lovely natural pool and beach bar. I know there has also been reviews about the cement factory. Yes it’s there but I actually appreciated the way the the hotel and beach club embraced their designs texture to give “ a nod” to the factory, and the more I looked at the architecture of it altogether the more I really began to like that it was there. I also noted the clear ways that certain aspects of the hotel and beach club were built to block it from certain vie

We traveled as two families (10 people, kids aged 4–14). Apartments: Spacious, modern and well equipped (fridge, freezer, hob, microwave – no oven). We had a dublex two bathroom, two bedroom appartment, plenty of storage, large terrace. Generally clean, though floors left our feet black. A couple of issues (blocked shower, faulty key card) were fixed quickly. Housekeeping service hit and miss depending on who you got on the day, expect the housekeeper to arrive before 10 on some days and on other late afternoon. Pools & Facilities: Rooftop infinity pool was excellent, open between 10am and 8pm – never too busy, always lifeguarded, plenty of sunbeds. Kids’ pool was ok but had an interesting feature of having blood red tiles which made the water look red!. The spa shop was handy, well stocked but expensive. There is a cafe in the spa shop that sold coffee, sandwiches, ice cream, coffee, waffles etc. You can purchase a frozen pizza and have them heat it up for 2euro, there is seating to site down and eat. Perchel Beach Club: Stylish setting but not very child-friendly. Strict pool rules (no ball games, only tiny floats). Guests with free access were generally placed on one side of the pool facing towards the ocean, paying customers on the other, felt like a divide. Food and drinks very pricey and service inconsistent (we had sour milk coffees and cold food). Kids’ club was a major concern: one staff member was completely inattentive, and our 4-year-old wandered out unnoticed. Other staff were much better, but it felt unsafe at times. Location: Very isolated, pebal beach, no shops or restaurants nearby. There is a small town with beach and enclosed sea pool 10mins up from the apartments but it was predominately locals and service was hit and miss in the cafes. Everything required a taxi (Puerto Rico ~€18, Puerto de Mogán ~€28, Maspalomas ~€28). For a family of six, this quickly added up to €120–200 per day once meals were included. A taxi driver tried to short-change us with English notes, paying by card was safer. Overall: Positives: Modern apartments, rooftop pool, friendly hotel staff, lovely sunsets, Beach club was nice, fantastic weather, hot until sunset. Negatives: Isolated location, very expensive food/drink, unsafe kids’ club, mixed service. Would we return? Probably not. Great apartments and pools, but too costly and isolated for a large family. Might suit smaller groups who hire a car.

We got breakfast included and it was amazing! Food taste great and the churros were my fav!! Ismael is very nice. Me and my family stayed in an apartment and it was very clean with air con. Definitely worth it. There is also a washing machine and dryer, they are both amazing and gets the job done. There are amazing pools super clean and feel safe, only a small walk to the beach (15-25min).We all slept great, there was a couch that can turn into a bed which is nice.Lots of space and everything works. We are a family of 5 and there is alot of space for us. Definitely recommend for small or big families.

I have just returned with my family of 5. The children ranged from 6 to 15 years old. From start to finish we had exceptional service throughout from when we checked in on a late evening, Maria made the check in quick and smooth knowing the whole family were exhausted! Our apartment catered to all our needs, The complex itself was easy to access all areas and we felt that it wasn’t too busy when we used the pool areas. The children lived in the infinity pool!! The beach bar was an enjoyable experience and Mar on reception was informative and welcoming. The Oxcean Bar was our favourite place to hang out on the complex. The food was enjoyable and Brenda made us all feel at home, she gave my little boy a cake for his birthday and the live music on an evening was great entertainment. All the staff from Maria, Heidi, Romona, Brenda, Carlos serving breakfast and being a welcoming face each morning and the 2 chefs all contributed to our enjoyable stay.

Lovely location (especially if tourist areas are not your thing) we went into town daily (locals are lovely!), we went to the local beach (one near the exit of the hotel about 10min walk, it's small but not over crowded) then a 2nd beach about 5 mins from the 1st ( has black sand and full with lovely locals. Beds are also free to use!) We used the onsite Spar & superdino alot (there's a nice really cheap toy shop near the superdino). We travelled to a market on the Saturday (€25 each way) ... we should of went to the mall. We used the beach club twice (absolutely loved it), we also ate at the restaurant downstairs to the beach club (staff are amazing & so are the nachos). The hotel... Beautiful place! However... cleanliness is a hit & miss... rooms are cleaned daily (bed sheets are not changed just made up!) You get a broom & dust pan but no mop & bucket (I would of preferred to mop) I did bring zaflora wipes to clean myself (highly recommend bringing cleaning products). Facilities in the room was very handy! (Dishwasher, washer & dryer). My biggest complaint is roaches! 2 was found dead in my room (assuming cleaners killed them & left them?) Once mentioned via whats app they was removed quickly ( I couldn't due to my phobia). I had requested to move to a room with a pool for my last night (as I was ill & this would of meant my kids can play whilst I relaxed in PJs) the person on reception agreed via whats app, gave me the price etc. However, the lady on the reception the next day was dismissive of this request & pointed out how inconvenient it would be. She also mentioned that the price given the night before €305 has now changed but didn't say what it was. (She was rude & I believe this was personal as i saw other residents make requests, complain with no issues but me moving rooms was!?). Every encounter but this one with staff was friendly. Breakfast is ok, large options (thank you to the lady who made my twins dinosaur pancakes!). I didn't use the hotel pool as it looked so small and crowded. A kids club would be great. As a single adult who travels with kids, I was unable to use the spa facilities. My teens didn't use the teen club (where it was... no idea). We are planning on returning for Christmas (would I stay here again... I don't know) would I stay in the same area... 100%

We absolutely loved this accommodation. We arrived later so weren’t sure where the reception was but met other guests who showed us. They immediately said “you will love it here” and we do. I was nervous after booking having read the reviews. Firstly the cement factory, I cannot believe it is such a cause for concern. It is in the distance, never heard it or smelt it?! It probably provides much needed employment for locals so that’s good news for the island I am sure. Change your perspective and be positive we feel! Accommodation great, smart, modern and roomy. Provided dishwasher and washing machine tabs and each apartment has a washer and dryer behind your room (outside in an enclosed unit). Cleaning done daily so much so some days we said no need thanks! Gym REALLY good we used most days. Our teenage sons loved the table tennis. We used the beach club quite a lot and we really rated it. Definitely felt like a bit of luxury. We only booked once, other days we either went on a waiting list to get a WhatsApp to tell us there was space or did other stuff and went along at 2/3/4pm and then we always got in. Used the bus loads (so easy) and cheap and air-conditioned! Went to Melonares/Maspalomas/ P Rico/Mogan Mall (great food places especially the Indian was especially good!) and smart. Did the boat ferry to P Mogan, lovely place but a bit of a problem with a sewerage smell which was u fortunate but we still managed a day there. Beautiful little place. We really rated the whole holiday. We had a good mix of doing stuff and chilling. Didn’t use the actual pool here at our apartment block and it didn’t look so appealing. Overall I would definitely recommend a stay here if you want a nice, smart, relaxing vibe with a beautiful beach club that you will definitely use at times and not have to pay extra for. Arguinegan is a small walk and has some restaurants which seem fine. Nice to be somewhere less kiss me quick and more local. Go on book it!!

My family and I have just returned following 10 nights at the resort. I had mixed feelings pre-holiday based on the reviews so feel free to consider this as some myth busting: Cement Factory - Yes there is one in the distance but it really isn’t that big of a deal aesthetically. We didn’t hear any noise coming from it however it may have been closed for the Summer as what tends to happen in Europe. Beach Club - If you want to guarantee a sun bed for you and your family, you need to be queuing from 10:15-10:30 on most days. Monday - Friday is free for people staying at the resort however precedence is given to those who book sunbeds online as online booking is chargeable. Saturday and Sunday you have to pay but get a 50% discount however you cannot use the discount when booking online. Arguineguín - This is a short walk away but you do have to pass through a “car park” which appears to be a Favela. Leaks - If you stay in villas 2007-2010 , expect a leak at some stage. The infinity pool is situated directly above these villas and in the 10 nights we stayed there, we were informed of a leak in Villa 2010 , and we had a leak in our own villa too. Haven’t a clue why the pool isn’t situated in the large garden area to the centre of the villas. Food - Breakfast was absolutely fine. Food at the beach club through the day was ok albeit the menu is limited. BE CAREFUL with the onsite restaurant at the beach club when dining in the evening. A lot of the meat is charged per 100 gram. Ensure you confirm the weight and price before agreeing to buy it. A language barrier led to ourselves being charged over double what we requested. Location - Really not much near by other than the beach club. You have to travel to Maspalomas or Puerto Rico to have broader dining options or “sandy” beaches. Value for money - very debatable. We expected a lot more for what was described as a 4* plus holiday. Whilst the staff were really friendly, I think 3 star is a much more realistic description.
