Maspalomas Princess

Stayed for 1 wk during October: Pros: V pretty hotel, good location, close to the beach, has a good splash park on site. Cons: poor housekeeping cleanliness - bathroom not cleaned, just fresh towels placed almost every day. Bedding not changed for the whole week. Pigeons walking / eating the open buffet next to the pool - chefs notified, did not remove these plates of food! Majorly covering up a food poisoning issue that has dated back for a number of years. Search on the FB group ‘Friends of the Tabaiba and Maspalomas Princess - Gran Canaria’ 🔍’sickness’! Failing to address this ongoing issue, brushing it off as a virus!! Kitchen staff not changing gloves after going from ‘clearing tables’ to laying out fresh food / cutlery. I would not risk going to this hotel again for illness reasons especially with young children! It literally wipes you out!

aspalomas Princess is a huge hotel. We think too big. They couldnt handle this amount of people. Rooms were okey, size, cleanliness etc. Pool was big, and there were lot of sunbeds, although not so many in the sun. Service was all together quite inpersonal, friendly though. Despite the girls in reception, they were rude an inpolite. (except the nice biker girl with purple glasses) I think that the biggest issue in this hotel is the food market. Its way too crowded, threre were queus everywhere. Everything was all time ran out. No glasses, no juices, no nothing. Food quality were quite poor. Coffee didnt taste coffee. Juices were awful, too sweet and nothing to do with real fruits. But the most horrible thing is the NOISE! Thats horrible. Staff are yelling, kids are shouting, acoustic in there is terrible. The noise was horrible at outside aswell. Bars by the pool were even more poor. Birds flying in there and eating salads from the buffet. We tried to book alacarte, but couldnt fit at any day in our 10 days holiday. And no one was willing to help us with that. When you passed those a la carte restaurants, they were empty. Our holiday was super, but only because we spend so much time outside this mayhem. Definetly not coming back

Hotel and room was fantastic, clean and spacious. The staff were funny and friendly. Facilities were excellent and catered for all ages. Entertainment was good day and night. Thank you for a lovely stay we had a blast and would love to visit again

On the whole, this is a good family-friendly AI resort, however it could definitely be better. The place is huge and took us a good few days to get our bearings. Positives - +Nice big pool area. +We found the food to actually be very good, whole family could always find something, including the Italian and Asian restaurants. +Rooms are a good size and a decent standard, good shower, make up mirror etc. +Self service beer, sangria and wine (we don’t drink wine but enjoyed both the beer and sangria). +Walking distance to a supermarket, slightly longer walk to holiday world/beach but doable. +Could always get a sunbed no matter what time you went to the pool, granted not front row seats (but those beds are ridiculously close together I wouldn’t want to sit there anyway, pretty much sharing with a half dressed stranger). +Very clean common areas, and maids do a very good job in the rooms. Negatives - -Gravel stuff around the pools, it’s horrible under wet feet! Would recommend pool shoes for little ones. -Pools were pretty chilly. -Restaurants are forever running out of things at key times and very slow to replenish, for example never any milk in the coffee machines, no glasses for water/juices, no milk for cereal. -As others have mentioned, unfortunately found the staff to be quite rude on the whole, especially reception. We were checking in at night with 2 tired children, mid way through the receptionist answered the phone and spent a good 10 minutes talking to someone else while we just stood there. I understand they multi task, but any other time I went to reception it took ages for someone to even acknowledge you were stood there when nobody else was around. -Poor booking system for the restaurants. You don’t get any confirmation for the slot you’ve booked so good luck remembering when and where you’re booked! We had to book the Asian for 9pm one evening as it was the only slot we could get, very annoyingly they came to use at 9:25pm as we were eating our dinner to say that if we wanted pudding we had to get it now as the buffet closes at 9:30pm! We then had to eat main and pudding (ofcourse kids then hop straight to pudding) with staff cleaning up around us clearly wanting to leave. Why have a booking slot for 9pm? -Restaurants start packing up pretty early, a good half hour before the advertised closing time so don’t leave it til the last minute. -Hotel felt very busy, they were at capacity with it being half term so no great shock, but it meant people were absolutely everywhere and silly queues at dinner. This could’ve been improved with more staff. -Told no for a late checkout so had to book a courtesy room, 30minutes for 4 of us to shower is pretty rushed, especially when you’re already starting to feel stressed with getting to the airport etc. -WiFi is pretty rubbish, connection constantly dropped and had to re-sign in. Ended up using data on my phone instead and linking kids tablets, not ideal. -Maids come into the rooms far too

The staff are the greatest asset here, they are very friendly and create a good atmosphere. The animation team, in particular, work very hard all day and really elevate the holiday experience, from yoga/pilates/stretching in the morning to great entertainment in the evening. The kids club also provides a great service and the team are excellent at making the children feel happy. JJ, in the animation team, has been a big part of making this holiday very special and he deserves a lot of credit for the effort he puts in to making guests feel extra special!

This is our 2nd time at this hotel and we will be going back again. Arriving at the hotel is lovely view to the main area. The hotel grounds is excellent, entertainment very good overall. The food is very good and the staff always willing to help especially in the MAIN RESTAURANT as they Do go the extra mile whenever they can, they are BRILLIANT. Down side the German woman ask there friends to join them near the front of the queue a group of 6 became 24. I thought the germen men were going to say no we take our turn but no ( silly me 😔). Everywhere is clean and tidy. Yes you do have to queue up for your meals BUT there is a computer to let you know when the restaurant is busy and quite, so it's down to US that we went at a busy time. The staff are excellent, well organised and you will get a table ASAP with a smile 😊. Great children's area. The main pools are lovely and loads of sunbeds. The adults area does get busy but is quite. At the end of our stay they very kindly have 2 rooms available so you can shower and change if you have a late departure time. You can book this at reception for a 30 minute time slot for free, EXCELLENT. Staff always very helpful etc.
