We stayed at Pachira Lodge for 3 nights as a family of 4 (older teenage sons). We were unlucky to coincide our stay with a ‘tropical depression’ which meant that we had a couple of days of constant, heavy rain. But it’s a rainforest and it’s the rainy season so this should not come as a surprise! Lovely rooms with comfortable beds in beautiful surroundings. Be careful not to leave suitcases open. The humidity is very high and everything gets slightly damp if left out. We took zip lock bags to pack damp clothes in for when we left. Our guide, Fernando, was brilliant. So knowledgeable and happy to share lots of interesting information about the wildlife and Tortuguero. The highlight was seeing a beautiful green turtle laying her eggs at night on the beach. Such an enormous privilege and it’s heart warming to see how passionately the area is protected by dedicated rangers.

This is a very RAW stay but very beautiful. The moto of our story is sometimes you need to complain to be given good service. Our second room was a stand alone bungalow in the middle of the jungle. Great bed, good ventilation, could have used AC. Our stay was in December of 2023. We were told AC was planned for the following year. The food was adequate. The service was impeccable

La experiencia fue muy positiva. Fuimos en julio, temporada de lluvias y por lo tanto no dejó de llover, pero a pesar de ello, pudimos realizar las actividades que llevábamos contratadas. El personal siempre fue muy amable con nosotros. Las comidas eran sencillas pero estaban bien, siempre había varias opciones para elegir. Muy buen lugar para conocer Tortuguero y su naturaleza

Un Hotel sin grandes lujos ni pretensiones, ya que no tiene Aire Acondicionado, televisión etc pero que desde el primer momento que entras te sientes como en casa. Destaco la atención y el trato de todo el personal y la comida que aunque no es muy extensa está bastante rico todo. Para mí tiene una relación calidad precio muy aceptable

Great riverside location with comfortable rooms, nice gardens and swimming pool located just across the water from the town and the beach of the Caribbean Sea. Super variety of wildlife including Iguanas, Basilisks and Monkeys to name a few. Knowledgeable guides made the world of difference! The weather was kind for the end of May with just one very wet night!

I stayed here for two nights with my tour group and is one of my most favorite places in Costa Rica. The grounds are beautiful with monkeys and wildlife and many plants and trees. The rooms are quite adequate clean and the housekeeping is excellent. The food is institutional buffet. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in the Tortuguero area.

De reis vanuit de bus begint met een mooie boottour waarbij je al kaaimannen en verschillende vogelsoorten tegen komt. Bij aankomst bij de lodge wordt je ingedeeld in kleine groepjes waarmee je de rest van je verblijf een van de vele activiteiten kunt ondernemen en samen eet. Zo leer je ook mensen uit andere landen kennen. De lodge ligt midden in de jungle en is alleen per boot bereikbaar. Je wordt omringd door spider monkeys en gewekt door het geluid van brulapen. De kamers zijn mooi, ruim, schoon en met goede horren. Het is niet te warm in de kamers, ondanks te hitte buiten. De activiteiten zijn stuk voor stuk prachtig en leerzaam. de gids haast zich niet en neemt de tijd om elk dier en interessante omgeving te bespreken. de trips beginnen op de afgesproken tijd.
