Mercure is a top-level hotel. Everything looks like the pictures. The hotel staff is extremely nice, polite and competent. A large selection at breakfast, everything delicious and fresh. I recommend it for a business trip.

Very good location. Two stops from the main station. The hotel is in a side street that is quiet despite the bars and cafes.
The facilities are very old-fashioned, but perfectly adequate for a 2-3 day trip if you don't need luxury.
The bed was OK. It could have been a bit bigger. However, the pillows were not very comfortable despite the extra pillows.
The air conditioning worked perfectly.

A good hotel near Cologne Cathedral.
It is behind the main road and not easy to find.
The room is a little old.
Pros: Most of the breakfast items are BIO, which is probably their specialty. Close to the inner city shopping center, eating and shopping are all within walking distance.
