Caribe Town Bungalows

My boyfriend and I stayed at Caribe Town for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. It was the exact Costa Rican paradise we were hoping for — super relaxing and just the right vibe for our vacation. It’s just outside of downtown Puerto Viejo, so it’s peaceful but still an easy walk to tons of restaurants and beaches. The location couldn’t be better. The pool was awesome — honestly more refreshing than the ocean some days — and the beach across the street was basically empty and beautiful. The hotel is family-owned and you can really feel the love and care in everything they do. The whole property is full of wildlife — we saw sloths, lizards, butterflies, and birds without even leaving the grounds. The jungle landscaping is gorgeous. We added on breakfast every morning and it was totally worth it. Super tasty, laid-back, and came with coffee or tea, fresh juice, and fruit — the perfect way to start the day. At night we hung out at the bar and had such a good time chatting with Joel, Yanis, and Mel. On our last night, Joel made us the best piña colada we had in Costa Rica — and we tried a lot of them! Huge thanks to Karilily, Joel, and the Caribe Town family for making our stay so special. We hope we get to come back someday!

Everything about our stay was perfect. From the comfortable and charming accommodations to the wonderful staff. Natalia and Justine made our visit wonderful. Our daily breakfast was absolutely great, and the guest fridge and honor bar are great additions. We loved the location and thought “ our beach” was one of the best. We cant wait to return.

At one with nature !!! A cracking find just off the main beach road .A friendly welcome when we arrived and a quick tour was appreciated. Bungalow was lovely right in the heart of the forest so was lovely to sit out and listen to the weird and wonderful noises throughout the night and a cracking storm on one of the evenings .Only downside to trip was the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest but that never deterred us !!!!

Paradise in a bungalow! What a magical experience! From before check in to checkout we were treated like family! Karilily made sure we were able to park our car and enjoy lunch and beach across the street before our bungalow was ready. When we arrived, we were greated by Alean (I hope I am spelling your name correctly!) and she was so kind, knowledgeable about the property and had great recommendations for things to do! Our bungalow was perfect. From our hammock we saw so much wildlife including an armadillo, baby sloth (in one of the trees), lots of frogs and birds, and so much more! The two resident dogs are alsoso sweet! The included breakfast was delicious. One of the mornings Joel made huevos rancheros! It was delicious and really humbling to see the owner helping out (not something you see too often). The regular cook was amazing! Every day we had a 5 star fresh breakfast. I really enjoyed talking with Alean and getting to know her story!! There was a staff member from California who was also super kind and helpful and I don’t remember her name but thank you so much for everything also! We will miss this magical paradise and hope to return soon! About 5 minutes down the road there is a new disc golf course and a family of monkeys live in the tree. So cool! Thank you for ending our honeymoon in the most magical way!

Karilily and Joel are the best hosts that anyone could ask for. They run this beautiful resort jungle hotel with so much fun and love for their community. There are classes almost every evening from Muay Thai, boxing to Zumba. It has a relaxing pool and they offer an assortment of delicious, healthy drinks and spa treatments. If you're a couple looking for a relaxing place to stay and reconnect, or are a family looking for a safe and fun place for you to share some beautiful memories, definitely stay at Caribe Town! I was also a teacher at this beautiful place, and all of my students always loved taking class in a jungle paradise, with birds and animal life running around while we got our sweat on! They're also conveniently located in Cocles, which is equal distance into town and to the other end of this beach stretch to Manzanillo so you're in the perfect spot.
