Hazelwood Lodge

The nicest part of staying at locations like this are the proprietors who run the house. We met him and his two daughters who played with my daughter when we were ready for bed but she wanted to play longer. The room was very nice and we slept great. It is located closely to dining and the Cliffs of Moher if you are going there. They gave us solid recommendations for things to do in the area and were there if we needed anything. Breakfast was warm and ready when we woke up. This place just personifies quaint Irish countryside so if that is what you are looking for, you will find it here.

Fantastic stay. Could not have been better. We have been lucky to stay at B and B's throughout Ireland and we would clearly put this on top. EVERYTHING about our stay was perfect. Spacious room. lovely and interesting hosts and a wonderful breakfast. We also enjoyed access to the great library and all the volumes of Irish history. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you

We recently spent two nights in Hazelwood Lodge and, despite the inclement weather, thoroughly enjoyed our time. This gem of a guest house is located outside the village of Ballyvaughan. The road in is quite twisty and dangerous, not really suitable for walking although the proprietors provide high-viz vests for guests who want to. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was a very generous size with a comfortable seating area. Given the poor weather, we were delighted to return there each evening. Our bathroom, bedroom and sitting room were all spotlessly clean. We slept like logs thanks to the comfortable bed and complete quietness. Breakfast each morning was the highlight of the day, what a spread! There are no cooked-to-order dishes, it is a self-service buffet , but what a selection of beautifully cooked and presented hot and cold offerings! You will not be hungry. Our hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay, there if you needed them but not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hazelwood Lodge. It is the perfect base from which to explore the Burren . I highly recommend it to others hoping to holiday in the area, you will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Hazelwood was our favorite stay of our Ireland trip. The Burren Suite was large and comfortable with a bathtub - perfect for our family. Breakfast was a highlight! So many choices! The location is quiet but close to so many sights. If you’re interested in hiking, the Wood Loop passes right by the lodge! We only did a portion of it, but it was a beautiful way to enjoy the Burren.
