Carrygerry Country House

Location: Proximity to the airport, quiet countryside setting with scenic views, and easy access to nearby towns.

Disconnect between the restaurant and the hotel rooms. (Restaurant was very good) We were in the Hawthorn room - a standard room- it felt dirty; furniture felt sticky; bed with noticeably sagged in the middle; furniture was old and beat up. Carpet was old and stained. I realize it was a historic house but the rooms definitely need better upkeep. (And more friendly staff) We had to check out at 7:15 for an early flight; no breakfast available until 8- so not even offered a ‘to-go’ bag. We stayed at so many nice B&Bs during our stay, we were very disappointed in this one and cannot recommend it

Overall we had a good one night stay. The food is nicely prepared and presented. There is a bar for pre dinner drinks and a nice restaurant area. Breakfast was very good. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was very clean. It’s a historic building and from the outside the facade needs a bit of TLC to make a better first impression. Our room had a good view of the countryside but was quite small, think the deluxe description referred to the large four poster which takes up a lot of the space. Maybe you need to book a triple or family for a couple to get more square feet. Also the room we were in would benefit from some refurbishment, in the bathroom for example. The location is very handy for the airport, although we couldn’t hear the planes. Full dinner is served only on certain nights and the supper menu on other evenings looked a bit limited. Something to be aware of.
