It is about 15 minutes' drive from the Cliffs of Moher. This hotel is located on the seaside and can be labeled as a five-star hotel. The rooms are comfortable and poetic. The cream liquor provided is delicious. There are also free bottled water in the room. Slippers, pajamas and disposable consumables are all available. The restaurant and bar in the hotel have a great atmosphere. The morning at the seaside near the hotel is so beautiful. Breakfast is made to order and buffet, top-notch and rich breakfast! I would like to go there again if I have the chance.

I didn't expect it to be a very big hotel. It's very convenient to drive there. The hotel facilities are good and the scenery is great. It's a very ideal vacation spot. There are many options for eating, you can eat lunch and dinner in the hotel, and there is also a bar. The front desk may be a little busy when there are many people. What was surprising was seeing a double rainbow on the sea while having breakfast.

DO NOT STAY HERE. We were VERY surprised to learn upon check in that there was an issue with the quality of the drinking water in the hotels' rooms. This was something that was known to the hotel before we checked in and no one thought to apprise us of this situation so we could make alternate arrangements. The fact that there is an permanent alternate source of drinking water in the hallways suggests that this is a regular occurrence at the hotel. There was no mention of this on the hotel website nor was anything communicated to us at any time after we booked our rooms. After only staying for one night (vs our intended 3 night stay) we were fortunate to have been able to book alternate accommodations elsewhere. Additionally we were surprised to learn that there is no air conditioning in our hotel rooms, something else which was missed. I get that older properties in Ireland (and elsewhere) don't have A/C but we had just stayed for several nights in the Waterville area and there was no problem with providing A/C in the rooms. We were able to open the windows for ventilation but the mildew and bird droppings on the sills immediately outside of our windows did not provide us with any assurances that we would not be sickened by that dirt/filth. All in all, it was not a pleasant experience despite the natural beauty of the Spanish Point area.

We had a fantastic time visiting the Armada! Celebrated our dad’s 60th with a gorgeous evening at Aileen’s Restaurant, followed by a fun night at Johnny Burke’s, the local snug with great live music. The staff were absolutely lovely throughout, especially Frank, who was a total hero and helped us jumpstart our car before we left. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, 10/10! 😊

'A dent in the ocean'. How, why and is it worth it? When you reach a certain age, you stop looking at food through the eyes of "that looks nice, I'll have some".... Now, it's more "Is it worth the calories"... I spare the world this daily thought by not sharing it on here. Today's 'is it worth it ?' comes from a bigger question, and I'm really considering if the question should even be asked. I've been visiting the Armada hotel annually since 2001, got married here in 2009, so my longitudinal study does have some substance..... and I have the physique to support that I've enjoyed the menu..! There are many very special things about this place, location (unrivaled views - visit on a stormy day), staff are a delight - not unusual to see the friendly senior management clearing tables and chatting to guests. The constant reinvestment in the place coupled with the utterly charming staff (did I mention them?) really hold it as the place to stay in West Clare.... With all I've said, this is not enough to trigger me putting down my velvety smooth dream of a pint of the black stuff and start writing. That trigger, my friends, is the 'dent in the ocean'... allow me to explain.... I am a swimmer, I love swimming. Every year I swim in the sea, dodging the jelly fish and occasional dolphin - really just to pretend I can still swim like I used to...uhum.. not sure who I'm really convincing.... Over the years I've found myself competing in the local waters with the most extraordinary array of sea life.... in vast numbers. As boring as sea swimming it, having some company in the wider water does provide opportunities for conversation through the common medium of clicking and squeaking. I noticed the repetitive swimming behaviour of the fish and realised that they're not 'migrating', more 'training'. It turns out they gather off the Irish coast every summer, like entrants for the America's Cup, for their training camp ahead of the the 'Great Chowder Selection' at the Armada Hotel. These scaly little athletes know that only the fittest and friendliest will ascend to the great roux of the Armada Chowder.... Rarely would one speak to a fish who is so excited to meet the magicians in the kitchen of a hotel, I'm sure one of them winked at me as it climbed on to my spoon just now. With a blend of 7 species working in a harmony only the UN could dream of, the Armada Chowder really is a festival for the senses.

A fabulous stay at the Armada hotel this week for my daughter’s birthday. From the time we stepped in the door we were greeted by a lovely guy called Gary who was so friendly and helpful. The room was well equipped and homely. The service was amazing by all staff members and topped off by a beautiful view. The food was also delicious. We will definitely return. Mary

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern following an extremely distressing encounter with a member of your management team—specifically, the individual introduced to us as the General Manager, Frank—during a recent visit. What should have been a relaxing and enjoyable experience was entirely ruined by Mr. Frank’s shockingly aggressive and inappropriate behaviour. As a long-standing visitor to Spanish Point, with family ties going back over 50 years, I was appalled by the way he treated not only our group but also his own staff. It began when I simply asked a question about breakfast. Rather than offering a courteous or informative response, Mr. Frank replied in a short, dismissive, and incredibly curt manner. His tone was needlessly sharp and made me feel immediately uncomfortable. Shortly after, a group of men near us accidentally spilled drinks while carrying them from the bar. Instead of responding with understanding or assistance, Mr. Frank stood glaring at them, shaking his head in disapproval, and abruptly told them to “get up” in a condescending and rude tone. His demeanour was hostile and lacked any professionalism. The situation escalated further when he forcefully snatched a roll of blue paper towels from one of the individuals. His actions were alarmingly aggressive—so much so that it made several of us feel genuinely intimidated. My friend politely asked for his name, to which he responded by invading her personal space and demanding, in a threatening tone, to know why she wanted his name. His physical proximity, raised voice, and wild hand gestures created a scene that was entirely unacceptable—especially from someone in a position of authority. He repeatedly stormed off in frustration, waving his arms in the air and then returned multiple times, each time more aggressive than the last. When he approached our table, he leaned in close and insisted that he was not rude. However, his tone and posture were unmistakably confrontational. There was no attempt at an apology, no professionalism—only further aggression. At several points, my friend had to ask him multiple times to leave the table as his presence was so overbearing and hostile. She was so concerned she felt compelled to record the encounter for her own protection. His behaviour made us feel deeply uncomfortable and, as a woman, I found his aggressive stance and threatening tone to be particularly intimidating. It felt as though he was trying to assert control through fear, rather than lead with respect and professionalism. This is not the kind of treatment any customer should be subjected to—let alone from a person representing the management of an establishment. To make matters worse, when we later spoke with a member of the wait staff, she confided that she was glad it was her last day working there. When I asked her whether this was normal behaviour from Mr. Frank, she hesitated and appeared visibly afraid to respond—clearly intimidated by his pres

We travelled from US in June and stayed at the Armada for 8 days. It was the perfect place to stay with kids and older family members too. The scenery and activities close by were amazing but what made the vacation beyond perfect was the staff and attention to detail. Especially, Frank the manager who helped us with so much while we were there. I felt like we had a lot of requests and extra needs as we were traveling with my elderly mother and two children. Nothing was too much for Frank. He made sure staff were aware of our needs and everyone made an extra effort. We travel a lot for business and I have never met a more accommodating general Manager in any hotel. Thank you Frank and team! Our stay was perfect thanks to you!
