Traveled with my two children and we loved staying here. The moment we walked in, the kids were taking pics of the giant huskies and the lady behind the front desk offered to come and take our picture. All staff we encountered were lovely, especially Jodi in the trophy room. Hotel was clean, and the food was way better than I expected, I loved my breakfast omlet.
My husband’s family grew up here and they remembered this Inn as children. Of course, we decided to stay here for a memorial service of a dear friend of theirs. This is a charming bed and breakfast. Clean, the linens, pillows and bed are comfortable. You have to wait a little bit for the hot water before you hop in the shower—otherwise, you would think there’s no hot water! (that’s what our other companion thought and ended up using our room’s shower). The room was cold when we arrived, but my husband found the thermostat and adjusted the heat. This is an old inn, so the floorboards are sometimes squeaking when you walk. It is not good for elderly people who have problems with stairs because the rooms are on the second floor. The hand soap though was so watery it needed a new bottle. Some reviewers had written about the wonderful breakfast served here. Perhaps that was years ago, because our breakfast was downstairs in the “lounge”. Store bought muffins, K-coffee, bananas/apples, store bought granola. It would have been nicer if it was put on some nice containers (at least for the granola). There is a restaurant (seems like it is not part of the B&B—but they have menus in the room). Went there for a cocktail and was told we had to move to the lounge area because they close at 9pm.
It is about 15 minutes' drive from Kangda University. It is a budget hotel with good sanitary conditions. Toiletries are replenished every day, but the price of the room is slightly more expensive. American breakfast, coffee, milk, yogurt, bread and cake, fruit... There is a large parking lot, free of charge. There are restaurants and supermarkets near the hotel for easy travel.

I’m not one for writing reviews, positive or negative - but this without a doubt the grossest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I accept that for the price, you don’t expect a lot - but this is a different level. If I weren’t exhausted from a long drive, I’d be chalking the hilarious $81 (plus an additional $20 for my dog) as a loss and going elsewhere, or sleeping in my car. For already looking seedy, the parking lot is very poorly lit. The hallways are filthy, with paint chips and litter all over. Some of the doors have the room number handwritten on with a permanent marker. For the room itself, the main lock on the door doesn’t work. I turned on the TV, and the volume doesn’t work at all. There is black mold in the fridge. A broken light cover was left on a shelf. The windows are so caked with dirt/soot that you can barely see outside. And the odor in this room is strong, nearly overwhelming. I’m genuinely shocked that this place is allowed to continue renting rooms.

I would have preferred a Best Western but chose the Red Roof in Vernon because it was convenient to the major thorough fare and on the east side of Hartford since the following day we were heading to MA. I'm afraid I didn't like the Red Roof. I always forget they don't have elevators going to the second floor. We were carrying a heavy suitcase and being in my 70's, I'd definitely look for one. We went to our room and by 10 p.m. were heading to bed. I wanted to check the internet quickly on my computer, however, I wasn't given a user or pw to get onto the web. In order to get it I found I'd have to back downstairs to the front lobby since there was no phone in the room. Needless to say I was disappointed in my choice.
