XXINLIThe hotel's breakfast can be purchased at the front desk. The specific unit price is not clear, but our family bought three for $11, which is not expensive, but the breakfast variety is not a lot. I have eaten it for 15 days, and the surrounding restaurant is in the morning. It is open for business around 9:00, so you can go out and eat. There are a lot of parking spaces in the hotel, all of which are free, and there is no parking space. It is also suitable for children. There is a sofa bed in the room. See many foreigners and couples with two or three children living in a room.
Excellent choice for our family! Newer building. Clean, well-equipped double-bed room (TV, microwave , mini-fridge, desk lamps, coat closet). Quiet area - highway noise is blocked by a steep hill. Small pool for family (was closed). Large fitness room. Coin Laundry room. Large breakfast/TV lounge. Good breakfast (not fancy) with too many items to list. Everything worked as it should!
GGuest UserMy senior-in-high-school daughter and I were in Blacksburg to do a self-guided tour of Virginia Tech. The front desk staff were awesome. Super friendly at check-in. Early on Sunday one of staff made sure my daughter and I got an Uber in time to get to Squires Center at Virginia Tech to catch our bus. With a car or Lyft/Uber, good location -- just a few minutes from campus and was cheaper than some of the hotels closer to campus.
Stopped here for the night during a long road trip. The hotel is very convenient off 81. I I booked on line about an hour before arriving. The lobby is very welcoming. Front desk was fantastic. He was friendly, alert and attentive which was great at 11pm. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. The breakfast is very small but it was perfect for us to eat quickly and get back on the road. The breakfast staff were very friendly and attentive and the morning front desk staff was friendly as well. Great experience for a quick in and out.
I am writing to bring to your attention the persistent issues I have experienced during my stay at your hotel. This is my third consecutive week here, and despite being a paying customer, I find myself constantly struggling to receive basic service. In the first week, I reported my concerns to the Sales Manager, who offered a half-hearted apology. However, over the past two weeks, there has been no improvement in service quality. While the front desk staff have been consistently professional across all shifts, the overall service falls short. During my first week, the breakfast station ran out of hot food with an hour and a half left of service. Yesterday, there was no milk available. I am unsure who the General Manager of this hotel is, but the current level of service is unacceptable. I hope this review reaches someone who can address and rectify these issues promptly.
GGuest UserThe hotel was nice and clean. Our room was large. We had a 2 Queen suite with a small kitchenette. The staff was very friendly and overall the stay was nice. I had called to request a roll away bed and was told that was no problem. When we got there I was told they don’t have rollaway beds. This was pretty frustrating as we had to rearrange where everyone slept. Housekeeping will not come into do any cleaning unless asked. We didn’t have an issue with this as we just asked for more towels when needed etc. The pool was closed the first day and a half. It was rainy when we got there so it was the only source of entertainment for the kids. The pool area is indoors and very nice. The breakfast was mediocre and there was no variation day by day. We stayed for 5 days and there was less and less available each day. They ran out of salt, yogurt, fruit, etc. The juice is not good at all compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses we have stayed at. When I asked if they had refills the employee told us no, when they run out that’s it until the next order. I’m a platinum member with IHG hotels. We have stayed at quite a few across the country. This was not a good representation of the brand. When we come back to Blacksburg we will find a different hotel.
RRoam36816534713Everything you want and need! Met all our expectations of a Marriott property. The only drawback is the location. Keep your eyes open if you're coming off the expressway! Turn right at the light at the corner of Roanoke St. and Tower Road. The Fairfield Inn is right behind the Homewood Suites by Hilton, but you can't see the name of the Fairfield Inn from Roanoke Street. There is another entrance on the other side of the gas station at the corner in case you miss it.
GGuest UserI was very happy with the staff and accomidations at the hotel. I had an issue with the site telling me that I could only check in within a 2 hour window as I was traveling quite a way to get there and had no guarentee I could arrive in time. I called the hotel directly and spoke to a very nice woman who informed me that there was no set check in but that she would put a note in my reservation that I would be arriving late. Also when I arrived I found out that the hotel welcomes pets with no additional fee and so was able to take my rabbits into the romm with me rather than leave them in the car overnight ( they are show rabbits each with their own cage with food and water). The staff loved seeing the different breeds that I show and that made the visit more special. I will make sure to book there again when I go to the next show.
AAtupoBreakfast was too simple, with few flavors of instant cereal, donuts, and bread. Just coffee and milk.
There was no cleaning sign in the room, so I stayed for 3 nights and didn't come to clean it for a whole day. You might as well help me save a tip.
The air conditioning in the room was too powerful. Since the bedding was either a quilt or a simple blanket, I didn't turn on the air conditioning.
The water from the faucet of the basin in the room was too small, so I couldn't even wash my face.
Since it is the admission season, I can tolerate the price. Otherwise it's really not worth it. It is far worse than the Hanting in China.
Needed a place to stay overnight that accepted pets overnight while traveling. Was nervous about booking here because of overall rating was low, but reviews were mostly positive. I am so glad we did!! This was BY FAR one of the absolute nicest rooms we have stayed in at a motel. Everything was clean (very), in working order, and stocked. We had a non smoking pet room with 2 double beds and it had a great set up, was spacious, and even had a couch! Oh, no bad odors at all, which is hard to come by at many motels. Plus a continental breakfast that included hot waffles and other options. Check in was quick and easy. We couldn't find it online beforehand, but the pet fee was $20 just FYI, which was worth it, and still overall price cheaper than surrounding motels. Would definitely stay again, and hope to!!
