GGuest UserWe had a great stay at the Madison Hampton Inn Downtown over Thanksgiving weekend. We appreciated the spacious lobby for gathering with friends, the free breakfast, and the adjoining Bassett Street Brunch club. The rooms are huge—plenty of room for the family and all our stuff. Conveniently located in the heart of the Madison campus. Our favorite hotel in downtown Madison.
GGuest UserI recently attended a conference held at the Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club and stayed three nights at the property. Shuttle bus driver Brian picked my co-worker and me up at the airport and was so kind and friendly! His recommendations for great food and sights in Madison were spot on and much appreciated. We received a warm welcome when we arrived and enjoyed a wonderful soup/salad bar/dessert lunch at CIRC. My room was clean and spacious. I loved the walk-in shower and makeup vanity space with chair in the bathroom, which was clean and stocked with plenty of towels. My favorite part of my stay was the comfortable bed and bedding, especially those wonderful pillows! I haven't slept that well in ages. The hotel is conveniently located to the Square with plenty of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance, making it a perfect conference site. I highly recommend the Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club and hope to return soon with my family for vacation!
GGuest UserThis is a favorite hotel for location, price, and amenities. The breakfast meal is good and complete with a variety in hot foods each day. The pool hours are very good from morning to late night...but the pool is too cold to really enjoy. The hot tub is nice. The room have plenty of seating and space. The bed has been our regular complaint from the uncomfortable mattress to the down comforter. The mattress is hard and flat and the down comforters in lumpy, but the room does a good job in keeping a good temperature.
SSammie0694Since my last stay the hotel has went from a unwelcoming environment to a very amazing place to stay I’ve enjoyed every night I’ve stayed recently the staff is friendly and efficient the breakfast has improved the rooms are super clean.
Colorfully minimalist along with carefree vibes are part of the Tru brand experience. The room was smallish but the mattress was as comfortable as any I have ever experienced. Plenty of outlets and ports for devices were in evidence. I had requested top floor ...check. I had requested extra towels...check I had requested no connecting room...check I had requested end of the hallway...oops, did not happen. However, in spite of a wedding party being on the 2nd floor, our 4th floor location was absolutely quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean; bath amenities are by dispenser ( no more cute little bottles of shampoo or conditioner:(((( The property is only 3 years old and is holding up well. A couple negatives...the breakfast offerings were also minimalist so we had breakfast elsewhere. A game cabinet looked promising but the contents were misplaced, mixed up and missing parts. On the plus side a foosball table was awaiting players. Plenty of handicap parking was evident ( yep, we need that!). I did not see any plug-ins for electric cars. The property is very convenient to shopping and eateries. And we would definitely patronize this property again when we go back to Stoughton.
GGuest UserThis hotel swooped in to save our evening when another nearby hotel ”lost” our reservation. We were thankful to be welcomed with a free upgrade and in time to grab a beer from the snack area. The room was basic, but very clean and extremely quiet. We had to skip the made-to-order breakfast, but were pleasantly surprised by the choices. We will definitely make this location one of our first choices when we are traveling to Madison again.
AAmy LI had a room rented for a couple of weeks for my stepfather’s 90th birthday bash. On the day I was to travel, my mother called and she was SO sick, and meanwhile, my stepfather was having problems with his back to where he could barely move! I phoned the hotel and Vick, the general manager, not only refunded me most of the price for my reservation, he informed me of the third party vendor with whom I made the reservation on line and could not recall, but he graciously answered there questions about his name, and his title, which the “title” they did not tell me about the first time I called. So, a total of 3 calls to Vick! I stay at this hotel every time I see my parents. It’s very close to our family home. I have reserved rooms before only as Amy Cardwell, but I got married and my last name changed to Laster. That did not matter to Vick. He just wanted to help me! Thank you, Vick!
MMiss Fanny NGOur family is from Hong Kong, because we attended our daughter's graduation ceremony, we chose to book this hotel for 9 days. After we stayed in a standard room for one night, we found that the room was very small and there was no desk. We asked the front desk to change it. The lady at the front desk was very considerate and changed us to a studio room, which was much larger. Thank you very much! The hotel has free parking, which is very convenient. The breakfast is the same every day without any change. I hope the hotel can change this! You can get the cleaning products from the service desk, and the service at the service desk is also very good! !
We prepaid for a room for two nights to visit our daughter at UW. I only chose this cinderblock hole because our prefered hotels were booked by people attending the home game. Our last visit, the tub and toilet were broken, but we booked late and were stuck. When I arrived, a smoker sat in front of the no-smoking sign by the lobby doors. The clerk rudely informed me that it was shift change.”I'm counting money. You can't be here, sir. Back off and sit in that corner.” Since my family had to use the bathroom and didn't want to wait, I took them to a nearby gas station. When I returned, the clerk refused me admittance, claiming I had been coughing and sneezing non-stop, and would contaminate the place. (I blew my nose once upon entry due to the heavy cigarette smoke by the door, and she sprayed disinfectant in the air on her side of the glass partition.) The insulting manager backed her despite the fact that I exhibited no symptoms during the entire discussion. I had to spend 1.5 hours on the phone to get my money back (in a couple weeks) WHEN THEY BREACHED THE CONTRACT. Motel 6 corporate refused to migrate my reservation to the other hotel of the same name in the city. By then, finding a decent hotel for under twice the price was impossible. Instead, I drove 4.5 hours back home in the rain. I had never been treated this shabbily in any hotel. Don't risk the abuse for a place this bad.
GGuest UserWorst. Hotel. Ever. We were bumped from our reservation at another hotel owned by this chain. They gave us an ultra cheap rate to stay at the Microtel. We had purposely gotten a room with a king bed because I had had Rotator cuff surgery the week before and needed the room. We booked the room because we had to be at the airport at 5am and we live about 2 hrs away. At first I thought it would be fine , and I knew there was a big event in Madison that weekend. We should have gone home abs driven dish the next morning at 0- dark- thirty. Room - tiny 1 queen size bed. I guess I should have figured a much with micro in the name. Inefficient and ugly lighting I bet they never stay in a room or try to work at the desk! Air cooling- moved the air around , but set on high cool we should have been freezing- ran constantly at 80 db! Bed was uncomfortable and small Door keys stopped working right after we got in the room. This would be ok for younger people but not for us. Bit with the money we paid at $47.00.
