Good breakfast, not many people, free parking. No laundry service, you need to go to the nearby laundry to wash clothes, but it is also very convenient.

Must be fully praised, the location is on the 395 highway, very easy to find, there is a great Chinese restaurant next door to stop the car, 18 pieces of the package to eat the 俺娘 tears, I eat next to the Texas flavor, bricket beef Special stick. The hotel staff is very warm and friendly, the breakfast is also very rich, the price is very reasonable, highly recommended. In the morning, when I pushed the door, I saw the golden snow-capped mountains in the morning sun. It was still very shocking.

The service team of Sandra and Blanca were courteous and very professional. Breakfast was basic but good enough. We stayed at a King Suite above the garage (which I requested it so we'll have fewer ”neighbors” around us), the only thing I noticed was that hot water travels a long distance from the water heater to my unit in cold weather. Took me a while to figure that one out. Overall, it's always a pleasant stay over here. Will be back again.
I hadn't stayed in Bishop for a number of years and thought I'd try the El Rancho Motel since I recalled staying there many years before. Check-in was at The Trees Motel a short distance away (I assume they share the same ownership) - just a slight inconvenience there. The El Rancho facility itself was pretty much as I remembered it - an older one-story motel with fairly small and bare-bones rooms. The place has seen better days but everything was clean and everything worked fine. The only exception to that was the hot water in the sink and shower of the tiny bathroom - it took forever for the hot water to come on but it eventually did. There was a small table and chair, fridge/freezer, and coffeemaker in the room, and the heater worked fine and was reasonably quiet. The bed was comfortable enough, and the TV was good-sized and had plenty of channels. Motels in Bishop seem like they're a bit pricey in general and I didn't think the El Rancho offered great value for what I got. It was ok but I'll most likely look for another option the next time I stay in Bishop.
I loved everything about this place except for the staff. In 15 years of staying at hostels all over the world, I have never felt less welcomed by staff members as I was from Ant (short for Anthony). From the moment I arrived he was inexplicably rude to me and my group, reluctantly answering questions and rushing through the protocol for how the house runs. When we informed him that our toilet was leaking water onto the bathroom floor, he told us he was aware of the problem but offered no solution. After a full day of hostility towards us, I overheard him complaining to the other staff members in the kitchen about how much he hates hikers and how he can't wait for the hiker season to be over so they'll stop coming. Being a hiker, I finally realized why he had decided to make our stay as uncomfortable as possible. While he did complain loudly every time a new guest arrived to check in, he was noticeably nicer to anyone who appeared to have money or was an attractive female. As previously stated, everything about this location is excellent. I hope that the owner reads this and seriously considers a change in staffing - the current crew is severely bringing down the potential for this place to be the best lodging option in Bishop for adventurers.

A traveling retired ski bum like me balks at paying $400/night to stay at Mammoth when I can get a room for a bit over $100 in Bishop an hour away. One has to be careful when staying at less-expensive motels - they can be nasty and are often a crapshoot. Not so here! The rooms aren't very big, but mine was totally fine. Flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, comfortable bed, and quiet. Very clean and no smell. Many restaurants and stores within walking or easy driving distance. I would gladly stay here again.
Convenient accommodation, check in good service, with microwave in the house, small refrigerator, free outdoor pool, chargeable laundry, very simple breakfast

Very clean nice suites, soap dispenser in shower was broken, no bid deal. The largest issue with this hotel is their front desk staff and their bizarre business practices. I booked the room weeks before our stay for a Sunday night. Was charged Saturday for the full amount of the stay on Saturday that was taken out of my bank account. Checked in on Sunday and I noticed Monday morning I was charged once again according to my bank account. When I brought it to the front desk staff’s attention, I was told that this is their policy and I would receive a credit with in 48 hours for the $253.95. I find this a bizarre business practice to be charged twice and hold my money for 48 hours. This could really do damage to someone’s account that is on a fixed income. I would absolutely never stay here again because of this bizarre business practice of Holiday Inn Express. Will go back to where I usually stay in Bishop from now on.
GGuest UserIn addition to expensive, there are no major shortcomings, the price of a small town is more expensive than San Francisco. The day before going to Yosemite, living in the town of Bithorpe was very convenient and not very expensive.
GGuest UserEasy check in and check out process. Room is fitting for a solo traveller like myself. A couple will do well too for the room size. Breakfast was sufficient and the facilities was also enough. I used the laundry service, keep in mind there is only one dryer and one washing machine. I didn't have to wait. The heater/air cond was good and the room was quite clean. I think it was worth my money as I was on a budget. The microwave came in handy and the internet was very slow but I realised that I could switch to a different server then it was lightning speed, just a tip.

Good location, good store just next to it, where travelers may buy anything they need. I had two rooms, with kitchen, the kitchen is simple but functional. The bathroom was quite cold as the heaters were so so able to heat both rooms.
JjoegaberI have never written a review even for places that seriously disappointed. I'm making an exception for this place. To make a long story short, the manager and a buddy of his were violently aggressive when I arrived at midnight and tried to check in after the reservationist promised a late check in would be no problem. When I arrived, there was an open window with a buzzer, I pushed it and heard it ring. No one answered. I then called the reservation number and told them of the situation. They escalated the call to a supervisor who then put me on hold to contact the motel manager. While on hold, I noticed the room next to the office, which I presumed was the manager's quarters had lights on and I could see through the blinds that there were a couple of people inside. I could hear them speaking loudly. While on hold for over 20 minutes, I then knocked on the manager's door in hopes they could speak with him to check me in. When the manager opened the door, he immediately begain yelling ”why are you here? why are you here?” and then pointing to a sign (I did not see) that said the office closed at 10:00. Both the manager and his friend were clearly intoxicated as, I saw a numerous Corona beer bottles on the table inside the manager's quarters when he opened the door. He immediately became angry and ordered me off the property despite having a reservation. I immediately got into my vehicle when he slammed his fist into my window and then on my side mirror still screaming at me to leave, which I did immediately. Even after crossing the 4 lane highway and parking so I could see if there was another motel open, he and his friend crossed over to the other side and starting coming towards me. I immediately left. Several days later, after returning home, I get a call from a Bishop police officer investigating the manager's claim that I tried to run over him when trying to back off the motel's property. The officer had video from the motel of the incident and, I was told after answering his questions, that my version of what happened matched what he saw in the video. Additionally, the Motel 6 manager neglected to tell the officer that he and his friend left the property, crossed the highway, and tried to engage with me again. The conclusion being that the officer later called me back and he said that after looking at the video again and hearing my version, he would not be forwarding the investigation to the DA. To think that this motel is run by two, presumably drunk and violent people is unimaginable. I am 66yo and 5'6”, 150lbs. The manager was at least 6'2”, 250lbs and no more than 45yo and his friend was similar sized, except skinnier. To say the least, I felt that my safety was in extreme danger. These two violent, presumably intoxicated individuals threatened me (their own video documented the entire situation) and there's nothing I can do about it except tell you of my experience. I have been a loyal Motel 6 cus
