AAnonymous UserI was impressed by the clean private room and the elaborate meals (the breakfast was amazing!). The staff are fluent in English and Thai, so communication was not a problem. The staff also frequently looked after the guests, so I was satisfied with my stay.
I gave it a low score because the location is 30 minutes by car from the pier. However, transportation can be arranged by contacting the resort.
As this is a resort where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there are no work desks or TVs. I recommend that you relax here.
JJSMCOne of the more affordable places to stay if you want somewhere right next to the beach.
The bungalow was small but cute and clean with its own porch. Bathroom is open air so beware of lots of mosquitos and the likes if you need to go to the bathroom once the sun has set.
Staff and owners friendly, complimentary breakfast was satisfying and you can order as much as you like.
I especially enjoyed just taking a dip in the blue waters, then reading or napping on the hammocks afterwards.
I didn't get a chance to do snorkeling at this resort but I heard it's one of the nicer places in Koh Kood to do so.
All in all, I'd stay here if I visit Koh Kood again!
KKetsarinWe have a great time staying at Mira Montra Koh Mak.
Front desk is very kind and helpful. Room is clean, bed is super comfortable. Free to borrow kayak, sup board and snorkeling equipments. Thanks to N’ Chai for recommending snorkeling spot at Koh Phi, that we can go there by kayaking. At Koh Phi diving spot is full of sea anemone, pink anemone fish and pack of various kind of fish. But not recommend when strong wind, high wave and strong currents quite risk.
Hope to have spend more days here again.
CCharlJust okay. Near the beach but the rooms are outdated. The staff service could be better. When we checked in there is no one at the reception. Then in the evening they called me and say they couldnt charge my credit card and need me to go pay immediately. After i went to the reception i told the staff it was not my credit card and that i paid via trip. They let me wait for like 10 min on checking other things. Can rent motorcycle from resort 300 baht per day which is reasonable. Breakfast was so so.
GGuest UserThe beach front pool villa was perfect, looking straight out over the sea.
Two huge double beds which were really comfortable.
Cold, quiet air conditioning.
Large bathroom with outside shower. (inc shampoo, body wash etc)
TV with Netflix if you’re feeling lazy.
And a coffee machine.
Outside pool was an added bonus to cool off.
Zanzibar, the resort cocktail bar make really great cocktails with happy hour (50% off) between 5 to 7
Breakfast was good and had variety. Eggs station, toast, bacon and pastries. They also have rice dishes, vegetables and pasta.
The resort restaurant was disappointing with prices well over 300 baht for Thai dishes. The quality did not reflect the price at all.
Be aware if you book a transfer through the resort to Koh Chang, it’s pricey & stops at multiple piers before heading to Koh Chang.
JJSMCThe highlight staying at Baan Suan is definitely the passionate hospitality of host Lily, would is happy to go above and beyond to help make your Koh Kood stay fun and memorable.
I stayed at the standard room, which looked a bit different to the photos, generally clean but beware of flying ants at night when you have your lights on, and also for small geckos and the likes (toilet and shower is also outside of room, which is something not mentioned at booking, for people who are wary of mosquitos and other insects going to the bathroom at night might want to consider an upgrade in room).
Location is on the main road 10 easy mins walk to Bang Bao beach. Otherwise there's restaurants and cafés within 15mins walk either direction of road.
All in all, recommended to stay here if you'd like a homefeel to the chilled vibes of Koh Kood!
PPockatmzEvery time I come to Koh Kood, I stay at only the Captain Hook resorts. This time I brought my elders with me. I couldn't book in time, so there was only Captain Hook, a pool suit room left. I usually come on weekdays, but this time I came during the New Year period. The weather was great, the sea was clear, and diving around the resort was the end. There were a lot of fish, medium, and large. The accommodation is suitable for those who like peace and quiet. There is no beach in front of the resort, but you have to kayak across, less than 50 meters.
AAllieLWe had an amazing 4 night stay at the Mak Trat and I can’t begin to say how wonderful, new, clean and well kept this place is. We arranged a hotel pick up from the Ao Nid port and within 5-10 of our arrival they came to pick us up, and took our luggage straight to the room.
The villas are extremely charming and the beds are very very very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious as well and the food at their own restaurant, and the amenities like the swimming pool area are very clean, beautiful and inviting. The staff is very kind and helpful informing you about day trips and also, you can rent a scooter at the hotel itself. We’re in love with this place I would 100% stay there again. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserThe wCham’s house is a wonderful place , very well located on great beach …
But … the staff doesn’t speak very well English ( apart from the responsable persons in every service) .
But gettinginformation at the reception is very difficult and getting g the right info at the restaurant ( apart from the menu) is also not possible.
The management should really invest in English courses for their staff , as well as invest in the maintenance ( very , very poor) .
It looks like that after the pandemic, the owners of Cham’s house want to earn a maximum of money , without investing..
it’s a pity that this wonderful place is loosing it’s glamour ..
GGuest UserIt probably was a great place to stay years ago, but not anymore! Avoid! Staff are renting there own motorbikes to try and make an extra buck, normally I’m up for this but they tried to give me some broken bike and smiled as if it was ok. There was a mistake with my booking so I couldn’t get the room I paid for so I had to pay for an upgraded room which I happily did. Trip.com offered to refund me so all I needed from the hotel was a receipt to show Trip.com but because the receptionist didn’t put me through the system and just pocketed the extra money that I had to pay in cash, she couldn’t give me a receipt, now I’m caught up in this scam they have going. I obviously was not able to leave a tip after all this weirdness, I have never in all 50 years of staying in hotels been asked to pay for the hotels mistake. Usually upgrades are free as an apology for not providing what was originally advertised and paid for.
