Because the hotels that I usually stay at were fully booked, I ended up at CityStay. There are many positives about the hotel such as central location, low price and cleanliness. But there are also negatives. Bathrooms and showers are shared like a hostel. The breakfast is mostly cold food. The only warm dish, boiled eggs, were undercooked. The rooms are spartanly furnished. If you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep and not spend time in the room it is adequate. Otherwise, spend a few hundred kronor more for a real hotel room somewhere else.

My family and I stayed at the Stella Hotels. We really enjoyed our stay here. We were given instructions on the phone where to get the key. The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious, cozy and, most importantly, clean. The room has shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer. Nice bed. A calm, quiet atmosphere. Quite a good and varied breakfast. Close to the center. I recommend this hotel

The location is on the edge of the city, but the city is not big, the traffic is convenient, it takes only three minutes to reach the nearby large supermarket, which is very convenient. The hotel breakfast is suitable, the breakfast variety is there, there is hot water supply, it is difficult to find some hot water in Europe. The hotel room is large, and two folding sofas can be opened. The room can accommodate 4 people.

I went to Uppsala with my son to attend a seminar. Sweden was cold in March but the hotel staff at Akademihotellet were exceptionally warm. I would like to thank Jessica and Linnea for being so approachable and helpful. The twin room I booked was cozy and had enough space for a big luggage and smaller handcarry luggage. The room was warm and I loved the heater in the bathroom. The hotel was very near the Uppsala University where I had my seminar. A stone’s throw away is the very interesting bookstore, the Antikvariat Thomas Andersson whose owner is very friendly and a storehouse of knowledge. My son and I loved the pantry which was accessible 24 hours and had a coffee/hot chocolate machine and biscuits, as well as still water and sparkling water. The hotel also offers a laundry area with a washing machine and dryerl but the washing machine looked as of it had a red stain. They also have a sauna and a small gym free for guests.

Breakfast is not bad, DIY cakes, hot food is not much. The room is small, you can only put a bed, look at the surrounding environment before entering the room, if you are in the bathroom, it is recommended to contact the waiter to change a house, it will be very noisy.

Very good for the price - pleasant surprise overall. It was very clean and pleasant with many mods ern amenities. The staff went above and beyond to help and were so kind. The breakfast was nice with good choices. Largely continental but a bit extra. For the location and price, it was perfect.

We adored this hotel. It was both gorgeous and historic as well as being perfectly located within the old town along the river which afforded us beautiful views from our rooms. A true grand dame. The hotel staff were efficient, helpful and kind. Kudos and thank you to each of them. Breakfast was great and the staff most helpful in determining which items might contain certain nuts. The bar in the hotel was excellent with outstanding service. The rooms were nicely appointed and the beds comfortable, affording each of us a good night's sleep. The only caveat: the bathrooms were quite small, although not unexpected in a hotel of this era. Loved it here and highly recommend.

GGuest UserFirst time in Uppsala and we chose this hotel just after careful research! And we were not wrong! Absolute jewel among swedish hotels! Beautiful building..very nice and elegant rooms! Excellent beds and bathrooms! Completely silent even though there were two churches quite under the window! We could not hope for more! The breakfast was quite limited but service excellent! When in Uppsala this is THE hotel!

Stylish Scandic design prevails all over the property from cool decors of the common areas to the charming touches to F & B establishments. Absolutely worth the money I paid for this. Great value for money LOCATION: Located right next to the Central station and walkable from all key points of interest DINE + DRINK: Excellent Breakfast served at the cool Lobby level restaurant that is worth waking up for. The Bar and the Terrace seating are also lovely places to hang out in the evenings. ROOM: I stayed in Room 749, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Lovely view of the Train station and the old city at a distance from a Huge Balcony where you can spend evenings and lazy mornings; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good Radisson branded Cosmetics FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a good range of weights and Cardio machines, fit enough for a full-on workout! SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi(up to 90 Mbps) that works well all over the property. Medium-sized Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages

For the price you can’t beat it. It was very well located, clean and comfortable. If I had to quibble there isn’t a proper desk in the room which is tricky for working but not the end of the world. The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms are small but then you can’t expect bigger at this price point.

GGuest UserThe price is not high for this price! Overall expensive! The room is not big, there is no free toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers, which does not match the price! The location is closest to the transportation hub center, the supermarket is not far from the city center and very close, Uppsala is very small! There is free breakfast and dinner, this is OK!

GGuest Userhe apartment turned out to be better than expected, the only problem being location. When we booked we weren’t too worried about location as we have a car to get into town centre – in reality parking anywhere near the town centre is a nightmare for tourists. You need a parking app on your phone and also need to understand Swedish (which we don’t). In the end we returned to the apartment and took a bus instead – the number 6 bus stops around 400 metres away. The apartment block looks fairly new and there is some private parking available outside, although not one for every apartment and not bookable. Loads of space for pushbikes. The common areas inside the building are clean and tidy, a guest laundry is available. Our room was slightly bigger than expected, reasonable cooking facilities and a well designed bathroom to maximise available space. Overall a good stay, but if you’re going to centrum don’t even think about taking a car unless you understand the process or Swedish.

I was simply turned back only for them to sending me no show later. I simply ignored them.
The hostel is excellent, secure, warm, clean and centrally located in Uppsala.
