Beatiful house with nice comfortable rooms, a super nice living room for spending the evening . Good breakfast and a nice, clean pool. Big garden with grapes and olive trees, kiwi and qrapes on top of the parking lot. Enough parking space. Definitely worth a visit during your douro valley tour. Some nice restaurants to visit in the small towns nearby. Tasty wine from own production and very friendly owners

Situated on a hillside just outside Tabuaco the hotel boasts stunning views. It is possible to walk.into the village (about 20minutes). It is well situated for exploring the area around the Douro. The hotel.is modern and rooms are a good size with the amenities you would expect. Staff are friendly and helpful, if a little overwhelmed when there were 2 large groups there. Food was plentiful and good, although not always that much choice. Having said that, my partner is a fussy eater and he found things to eat. Greater attention to detail would improve ratings e.g the safes did not work (despite bringing this up with the hotel.on multiple occasions), the Orange juice at breakfast was very weak, more like Orange squash than proper orange juice.

As I had foregotten, I came back: sympathy, elegant rooms, dinner at affordable prices and delicious and breakfast with a little of everything. There is no doubt a hotel that will always be on my list of hotels to repeat.

This is a very relaxing place to stay in the Douro Valley. It is centrally located. The rooms are neat, spacious, and comfortable. We slept very well. The breakfasts are delicious with plenty of local fruit, excellent eggs, and Portuguese pastries. We enjoyed the pool with its beautiful view of the vineyards. The staff is friendly, helpful, and personable. They helped make our stay memorable. We hope to return again in the future.

Stayed 1 night as part of a 3 week holiday across Portugal. This was Vila Gale hotel number 3/4 we would stay. We booked a suite as a family of 4. The room was great, spacious, clean, very nice and modern. The balcony view was amazing looking out over the River and vineyards. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options from the buffet for the kids. We stayed half board and ate in the restaurant in the evening. It is buffet style and is ok but not amazing. Pool was very good with amazing views and the pool bar very convenient. Location is remote and you need a car. We traveled after staying in Porto and took a scenic drive of about 2hrs (but can be quicker on motorways). But the drive is well worth the location. It is in a stunning area and the panoramic views from all parts of the hotel are amazing. This hotel should be 5* and could be with some minor tweaks. The buffet restaurant is more 4* resort and with the change to A la carte menu restaurant would suit its style more. Also the addition of further bar areas other than the restaurant would add the extra. Apart from that it was a great stay and the staff where all pleasant, helpful and kind. Also felt comfortable with kids but would maybe come back as a couple one day to enjoy ;-).

Great hotel, located along the river and easy to reach. The room is with river view, really scenographic. The hotel has no interior restaurant but offers a selection of suggested restaurants at 10-15km distance.
