I booked this place first and then found the reviews on here which then made me a bit nervous about what our stay was going to be like. But after staying here I wish I never read the negative comments as I found we had nothing to worry about. This place is absolutely fine and you get what you pay for. There are definitely better places to stay at but you will be charged for these types of places obviously. The room we stayed in was actually good and was modern (modern TV, air con, carpet, beds). It was clean and tidy and looked like the photos that I had seen online. The room had a private bathroom, tv, air con/heater unit, kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, sugar, small dining table/chairs and the beds. The beds were clean and comfy. Wifi worked well from our room. We didn't use the communal bathroom or kitchen but had a look, and these rooms were basic, but clean and tidy. Nice deck and close to Haruru Falls. Plenty of parking and friendly staff. I would have to say the gardens/outside areas could do with more work/maintenance but overall this place was great and good value for money. You get what you pay for and it depends on your priorities when it comes to accommodation. I just like a place to be clean, tidy, friendly and look like the images online/no false advertising and this place ticked all those boxes!
We spent just one night here but really wish we could’ve stayed longer. The bed was amazing - it was firm and supportive and felt like my own bed back home 👍🏻 (no the run-of-the-mill squishy topper). The unit was immaculately clean and attractively decorated. The sparkling pool was too tempting to miss so had a wonderful swim after our day’s activities. Despite being near the main road, it was surprisingly quiet. We’d definitely recommend this as a great place to stay over.
All I can say is, DO NOT STAY HERE! If you enjoy getting spoken down to, bullied and humiliated infront of a camp site then this is the place for you!!! - [x] As soon as you arrive on the campsite you can tell by the atmosphere that everyone is very clicky especially residents and the site owners. Let me start by saying this campsite is practically a building site! The water is undrinkable, the ladies showers are a building site and the showers and toilets that work are filthy, the kitchen that is the 2nd class campers kitchen is horrendous, nothing works and everything is dirty. We actually ended up wasting all our food brought because there wasn’t even an over which we mislead via a very rude telephone call with Jenny. Murray…where to start with this guy! For the past month myself and my partner have travelled NZ and never met a rude local until our last night in the country which was completely ruined by the park’s worker, Murray. Without boring you with the patheticness of this story, Murray watched my partner accidentally put bread into a recycling bin rather than the rubbish bin… rather than approaching our van with a “hey guys just to let you know, the bin you threw you’re rubbish in was recycling but the rubbish bin is just next to it”… but no we got this guys lean up our van, and question why my boyfriend just threw the bread in the recycling, when he tried apologising, Murray proceeded to challenge him and belittle him by stating “it’s written all over the bin”. We’re a young couple in our 20s who he clearly thought he could bully…not to mention that we were his PAYING CUSTOMERS! I’m not sure Murray was very happy when he was challenged about the way he spoke down to us as though we were victims to his bully like behaviour, as he then told us to leave his park but refused to refund us with a “good luck with that” when asked for a refund. It’s clear Murray really really loves his bins as he walks around the site all day long checking them. The behaviour of the workers is shocking and the state of everything on the site is almost as bad!! Avoid this place like the plague, we felt so unwelcomed and personally attacked here! It’s completely ruined our trip and we’ve left NZ on a downer because of this hell hole!

Awesome camping grounds with great communal facilities. Unlike other camping sites there was a steady supply of hot water no matter what time of day you showered or how busy it was. Super friendly and helpful staff, fantastic views and top location. Definitely the best camping spot for miles!!
The room is generally good, and the wife is quite satisfied! The room key is in a box with a code lock next to the door. When I went there, there was no one at the front desk. After ringing the doorbell, I told me the code and room number through the intercom. I took the key to open the door, which was very convenient. The wireless signal is very weak and the wifi password is not working well, so I didn't go to find someone to solve it after staying for one night.
We stayed in the Campervan Park over a year ago and I've been meaning to write a review since then. We had a wonderful and surprising experience because of the weather. We were in our rooftent during the off season, so it was very quiet. We were very happy, enjoying the peace and quiet, the bbq / kitchen / communal shelter area, when the weather changed dramatically and the heavens opened. While we were happy to tough it out in our rooftent, Jan came to the rescue and insisted (in the nicest possible way) that we move into the apartments, as the weather forecast was the worst she had ever seen. Needless to say, we had a very luxurious night in a beautiful apartment. While we were pleased to see the next morning that our tent had withstood the torrential rain, we certainly enjoyed the upmarket accommodation. Thank you Jan for the memorable stay. We look forward to staying again, in better weather.
Nice sea view. There is ample parking space and Chinese service is available at the front desk. The swimming pool is conveniently located right in front of the house.
Comfort: The room is spacious, but the bed is a bit old and a little tumble. Facilities and equipment: The kitchen utensils are fully equipped and cooked for two nights. But the bedroom has no heating, nor can it provide a small heater. It can only be heated by the air conditioner in the living room, but the heating can be blown to the bedroom and it will feel cool. Surrounding environment: There are beaches to go outside. It may be less in the suburbs and less car, so it is more comfortable and comfortable. There are supermarkets nearby, but there are fewer restaurants. Front desk service: very nice, after entering the room, I saw the small card left on the table, accompanied by chocolate and milk, and listened to the intimate.
We are a retired couple from Australia visiting NZ for the first time. We had booked this accommodation before leaving home, so hoped we had done our research well enough. We were not disappointed! We were warmly welcomed by reception who were very obliging with any of our questions or needs. A very pleasant 10-minute walk along the coast and you were in the centre of Paihia – very convenient. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi speeds were unbelievable! Besides Sky TV, there was Netflix, Prime, even YouTube. We couldn’t have asked for more. Would highly recommend.
