I booked a sea view suite for about $250 a night, and stayed for a week. Because of the US epidemic, there were less than ten guests in the resort, so it was empty, and a restaurant was opened. There is a supermarket in the hotel, open from Monday to Saturday, you can buy some necessities. It is because the hotel’s own restaurant is very poor, so it is necessary to rent a car to go outside the restaurant to buy and eat back to the hotel, the hotel comes with a car rental service, car rental 46 dollars a day insurance. The restaurant outside the hotel is very cheap to eat. Basically, it costs US$100 to buy enough food for 3 days and bring it back to the hotel. Talk about the advantages. Very quiet, sea view suites have everything, microwave, stove, refrigerator, tableware, washing machine, very suitable for family living. The bed is very large and very comfortable, really comfortable! Also, the hotel is very clean. The location of the hotel is not in the 7th district, so the price is very economical.

This location is extraordinary and unique, but it could be improved by updating the facilities, enhancing staff service, and offering better food and drink options. Please take note of the following feedback: The rooms are basic and appear to have not been renovated for quite some time. Limited food options are perhaps the hotel's biggest area for improvement. Only one restaurant offers higher-quality alternatives, and the buffet selection is minimal. The hotel staff provides functional, but not excellent, client service. The drinks are of low quality, and there is very little variety.

Pros: Wiliam and Arturo were amazing!!! They were attentive and understood our order every time. They made every meal easy and we were super appreciative. Wiliam even made a special romantic night requested by my partner. It was beachside and beautiful! They played the music we requested and we both felt so special. Cons: the breakfast staff needs some work. They really didn’t understand what we wanted most of the time. They would ask me the same question multiple times and even when I clarified, they still brought it out incorrectly. Often times I’d have to ask for the same thing multiple times (like leche) and each time they acted like it was the first time I had asked. We were let down when one of the restaurants was unavailable, closed, or reserved for a party more than half of our 9 night stay. There was a storm and we were happy to have the restaurant in house so we didn’t have to go out only to find out they had closed both restaurants 30 minutes before we came down. They gave us a letter that the ferry was stopping at 4pm, but no notification that the restaurants were closing at 7pm. When we asked the front desk they said we were notified in the letter. We were not. The letter did not mention the closure. The front desk told us the only thing close for delivery was pizza. We had to go out into town and find a place open. We found one. An inconvenience none the less when you’re paying to eat on site.

GGuest UserMy experience at Atelier was nothing short of amazing. I visited the resort for my 30th birthday which was also my first solo trip. Every single person I encountered treated me with care and received me with love. I felt so special, literally like a Princess! I would love to come back and visit another time with friends and family. Here are some highlights worth mentioning: - I ate at Alba, Mercado 19, María Dolores, Takeshi, Limon y Sal, Bikini Azul, and La Consentida during my stay and all of them were good! Now for me, some were better than others depending on the type of food you like, but still, every single thing I ate was delicious. No hit or miss, the food was amazing, and at no point did I fall ill from food consumption. - Carmelo was my server at Maria Dolores for my birthday dinner and he and the entire staff treated me like royalty. I was alone at the restaurant for most of my reservation so they were all very attentive to me. The attention to detail in the food and the presentation made this a fine dining experience like no other. Everything was very well thought out and explained beautifully, like a story. Although the food at the restaurant is not included in the price of the resort, it’s very reasonably priced and worth it. - Joshua, Freddy, Adriana, and the pianist at the Azucar Bar & Lounge treated me like family for my entire stay. Every night I would visit them they would be so happy to see me and wanted to celebrate my birthday with me. Joshua is such a talented mixologist, every drink he made was made with love. I attended one of the cocktail classes hosted on Sunday evenings and although I learned some cool drinks, I wish we were able to be more hands-on and actually replicate making the drink instead of just watching him. - On the night of my birthday room service delivered a small plate of cheese and bread along with a champagne bottle, I really enjoyed that surprise! Random things to note that could matter to some people and are worth mentioning: - The walls in the rooms are pretty thin and you can hear everything going on around you, whether in the rooms surrounding yours or outside in the hallway. There’s ambient music playing 24/7 which is nice during the day but I think they should turn it down at night so guests can rest. - The app they suggest using for the resort is a bit glitchy and not fully functional. They encourage you to make dinner reservations using the iPads around the property because you can’t make reservations via the app which I find to be counterintuitive. You’re not able to see the reservations you set up in the app so if you forget what time you booked, you have to find an iPad to double-check. Also, the map of the resort on the app is very hard to use and understand. - I feel like this is a given at any beach resort but if you’re looking to get a cabana by the pool or hut on the beach, I suggest you get there early. If you are wanting to have a destination wedding, I highly recommend Casa de los Suenos on Isla Mujeres in Mexico. My wife and I started planning about a year in advance and were coordinating with the hotel manager/Chris, who is also the wedding coordinator and Robert his assistant. We did not know what to expect when we got there for the wedding with 65 friends and family members, but our expectations exceeded 100 times over. The bar tenders and wait staff worked tirelessly throughout the whole evening to make sure everyone was happy and accommodated. From food to flowers to cake to seating to pictures and the timing of all of the day’s events, (It was Amazing!) We stayed in the Presidential Suite and had the other 12 rooms booked out as well for 5 days. The restaurant/ bar down on the beach “Kin Ha” has 3 pools, GREAT food and service, and allows you to be in a self-contained environment with your group. We can’t say enough good things about Chris. His knowledge, connections and attention to detail made for the perfect wedding for my wife and I.

We just got back from 8 glorious nights here. Not going to make this a long review. Nothing really to complain about. Smaller resort compared to El Carmen but we liked the smaller, boutique resorts. Service was on point... Cesar at the martini bar was excellent, making the best martinis! Alejandro at the club pool building 8 made our days very comfortable and Virgilio kept us feeling very happy and our livers working over time. We had the roof top terrace. Didn't use it much since we are more social people. Plus they weren't that private with the higher floors of building 8 looking down on you. Food was great! Not one bad meal. Hard to choose which restaurant was our favorite. Enough restaurants where we didn't have to repeat meals for dinner.

LLeungAlexWe spent our honeymoon in TRS hotel with my wife. Check in was very quick and smooth unlike some other reviews i read takes a few hours, maybe it was on a weekday. Francisco at the check in counter was very helpful , he helped us upgraded our room to swim up suit and it was amazing! Sostenes and Cesar assigned as our butler for our stay and they were very helpful as well and always smiling. One thing I’d like to mentioned is that they said they have 25 minutes complementary spa for us for our honeymoon, and the reception told us to meet at the lobby next morning at 8:30am to take us to breakfast and to tour us around the resort. But the next morning we realized we have to attend to the sales center where they wants to sell us some traveling package which we didn’t expect, altho they are all very nice but we spent two hours there listening to them on the first morning of our stay and it was our honeymoon. wish they would let us know earlier then I would rejected, and they said we had to attend in order to claim the complimentary spa which at the beginning they said it’s for our honeymoon. Anyways, For food I highly recommended Gaucho steak house, we tried the bone in steak and they grill them with charcoal and it was very delicious , but the second time we went the steak was over cooked a bit. During our stayed we joined two activities, one is water aerobic and paddling. Both instructor was very fun and especially Dente. He was super friendly and patient! Overall we are satisfied with our stay, and would recommend to our friends.

JJen FanThe location is super nice! The facility is not new but well maintained. The room is vey clean with fridge and air con. The matrix is very comfortable. Had two nights of great sleep. There is no elevator in the hotel but the staff can help to carry the luggage.

After many, many visits to Isla Mujeres and stays in hotels as well as small casitas, our group of two couples opted for Rocamar because of its location on the malecon and its walkability to the beach, cafés, shops and restaurants we love. We requested second floor rooms and were squared away quickly despite a midnight arrival thanks to Jesse. A very quick room change was effected by 1 pm the next day for our travelling companions who had requested a king bed, and I’d say it was a fabulous upgrade to Room 18! If you’ve stayed there you’ll know why. Many thanks, Alma. A few thing took some getting used to but were quickly sorted. Bathrooms have glass walls but full privacy is ensured by pulling draperies over exposed areas. Stand far back as you adjust your shower temperature where you like it — hot water there is HOT. Our housekeeper was Kandy, a sweet woman who left everything gleaming each day around 11 am in our case. She provided extra towels and even some “Cloro” so I could get a stain out of my new white tee. We made sure to tip her everyday, even her day off, for her pleasant demeanour and friendly conversation. It helps that my Spanish is good. I’d say the hugest plus of Rocamar are its balcony views of the Caribbean Sea and the waves rolling in. Coffee and sunrises just naturally go together here. The sun moves to the southeast by lunchtime, so we would often spend our early afternoons by the small pool or the outdoor tables under shady canopies. The pool was clean and uncrowded; other guests were pleasant and respectful. Our single complaint was handled swiftly by the desk when a family had their small children in the courtyard running and shouting at 1 am. A definite bonus for us was the hotel cat, Misha, a clean spayed female dilute calico. She befriended us and spent most nights on our bed sleeping. She meowed to go out and returned in the evenings after dinner! There may or may not have been tuna involved. :) I hope all guests are accepting of her if not completely mad about her as we are. Look past a few dated things that could use paint. New pool umbrellas would be great but we know they take a beating with the constant onshore wind. We most assuredly will return to Rocamar for what we feel was an economical, safe and comfortable stay.

Pros - Great aesthetic and vibe as soon as you walk in - Located on a small but gorgeous white sand beach - Private beach front room very spacious. King bed very comfortable, AC was excellent Cons - TERRIBLE customer service. (1) Arrival day the water in our room wasn't working. At reception I was encouraged to use the Hotel WhatsApp Concierge Service so I messaged them with the problem and my details requesting someone come out. I didn't receive any acknowledgement to my message nor did anyone come to the room to visit. After a few hours the water just started working randomly. (2) I arranged a snorkel tour through the hotel and was told by the receptionist that it was confirmed and to come back the following day to pay. When I returned the following day, I was told we were not confirmed because I hadn't paid. They somewhat acknowledged it was their fault that I was told the incorrect information, however didn't care to try and resolve it. I ended up booking a different (and cheaper) tour via Viator that was confirmed immediately for the same day. - Location is at the south end of the Island. You either need to catch a taxi there (expect to pay 150MXP or $10USD each way) or have pre-arranged a golf cart/scooter from downtown. It's approximately 10-15 minute drive from the ferry terminal. - Food is average and the only eating area is outdoors & uncovered, so you have to constantly fight the flies while eating. - Service for food/drinks at the beach club is TERRIBLE. First day we asked 2 different waitresses 3 times if we could order food, each time we were told we had to wait for the other waiters to become free then they would send them to our table. When the waiters were free we were completely ignored for half an hour so we left and went to a neighbouring beach club for food instead. It was a much more pleasant experience elsewhere. We also experienced terrible service every morning at breakfast. Barely acknowledged when we sat down, had to wait a long time to receive menus or even our drinks. - Limited restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend having a golf cart to get around to different places to eat out, otherwise catch a taxi everywhere. - Loud ass music every night til midnight-1am. Don't expect to get to sleep before then, especially if you have to wake up early for a tour or to catch a ferry The cons outweigh the pros for this place, and in my opinion it's just not worth staying here, especially for the price. Considering we paid $1kUSD for 3 nights I would have expected better service.

We stayed at the Grand Palladium last October and liked it so much that we booked a trip for this October, 2024. We especially enjoyed the Fizz pool and bar. Our bartender, Dionisio, was very wonderful. He made rounds around the pool and made sure all guests had whatever drinks they needed, water, soda, or cocktails. He always had a kind word to say and a smile on his face for us, and made us feel welcomed. In addition, everything at the Grand Palladium was great. I enjoyed all the restaurants we went to and for me the food served here was delicious. I felt that all the staff members at the Grand Palladium were kind, courteous, and professional making me feel that I want to return next October.

Enjoying our second stay now and booking our third before we leave. Not an overbuilt modern, fancy resort. More traditional rooms, with small fridge and nice tile shower/bathroom and a balcony or patio. Main rooms are spread along the beach behind gorgeous older trees & landscape with a pool. The Tower rooms are in the white building across the street- half overlook the street as it empties onto the beach, and offer good side views of the beach. Rooms on the other side of the Tower overlook quiet landscaping. Building adjoins Buhos, which is wonderful. Prices are incredible anytime of the year. Service is consistent and friendly but remember- this is not New York, or even Cancun!! More locals speak Spanish than English but every single one will find a way to communicate with you. Keep google translate handy on your phone anytime you have a request involving anything uncommon or requiring more than a few words :) A true hidden gem!

GGuest UserWe loved Selina, we stayed in the suite for 7 nights which was spacious and gorgeous.
I would have loved to give a 5 out of 5 but for half our stay we had to put up with dj’s playing until 2am, and 4am on one of the nights.
We asked about a room change but would have had to give up the suite, they provide earplugs but nothing can cut that noise or bass out!
My suggestion would be to stay if you want a great hostel in a great location but ask for a room that’s further away from the music, if that’s even possible.
