Hunas Falls provides an astonishing setting of sprawling gardens with walkways, flowers and a lake with a bridge to cross it, a waterfall, upper waterfall and a mini golf course all constitute a most beautiful background. Happy to meet a long time friend Mr. Ranil Delgoda, who is maintaining the property in a prime condition. Very spacious room and the balcony with all the amenities, beautiful garden in the front, the valley mountains of in the background, lake and the forest onto the right, tea plantation plantation in the left. Just behind the room was the ten foot deep swimming pool, right behind the pool it's the Hunasgiriya mountain covered with mist and the road leading towards it. Restaurant overlooking the lake with a beautiful view, and the food is excellent. Something remarkable is the human touch, very friendly and courteous staff, starting from the front office Mr. Tuan, Ms. Nilmini, Ms. Sathsara, Ms. Himasha, Mr. Raja and Mr. Gunawardhanana, this is in addition to AGM & Head Naturalist Mr. Buwaneka Pathirana. It was a pleasure to meet the staff of well managed resurgent Mr. Hemantha - Restaurant and Bar, Mr. Wasantha - F & B, Mr. Dhananjaya, Ms. Disna, Ms. Minu, Mr. Chaminda, Mr. Sajeewa - Chef and his staff, Mr. Sidath, Mr. Satheesh, Mr. Ovindu, Messers Indika, Ashan and Charith in the Bar, also a big appreciation goes to the staff who are maintaining the huge beautiful garden in prime condition. Once again a big thanks to the GM, Mr. Ranil Delgoda for all the support rendered to us during our stay, as always.

Aarunya is an incredible resort and one of the most surreal places I’ve ever stayed. The view from our villa was breathtaking and I loved how peaceful everything was allowing you to enjoy the gentle jungle ambiance. The food and drinks were sensational! As this is a small intimate resort, everything is freshly made to order. It was some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka. The service was exceptional and everything was made easy with the use of a tablet in the room which connected you to the team. I can’t recommend this resort enough if you’re looking for a complete escape and time to unwind.

AArabinOne of the best hotels I lived in Sri Lanka, running by a local family. They are very nice and hospitable and even provided very delicious local breakfast with wild honey and welcome coconut water. The room was a quite big with high ceiling, clean and all the stuffs were available. The hotel is in the closest location to climb the rock mountain called Pidurangala to view panorama view of Sigiri and sunrise and sunset and very close to Sigiri Lion Rock as well. The hotel can provide car and jeep services. Jeep safari to see a herd and other wild animals were quite an experience to feel the wilderness and nature. This hotel is 100% recommended when you are in Sigiriya.
If you need a car service for city to city travel, here is the service provider, called Danu and his contact number is (0774) 642 805. He is a nice and humble guy with certified local guide. We got his service from Sigiriya to Kandy to Yalla to Colombo, the trip went very smooth and we are happy that we covered all the attractions places with his assistance. Highly recommended!!

Close to the main road and next to the Lion Rock, this family guest house is everything we were looking for. The mother cooks divinely well, and she is very available, the father takes care of his beautiful garden, and Prabash the son is adorable, he offers excursions and transport either by tuk-tuk or by car. He even picked us up at the airport 3 hours away. The prices are very reasonable. He took us to Polonaruwa, Dambula and Anuradhapura. The lion rock is very close as well as bars and restaurants and shops 10 minutes walk away. We stayed 4 nights. The price / quality ratio is exceptional.

The setting in the forest and tree top bungalows at the foot of the Pindurangala rock is the ideal location to explore this region, including the Sigiriya lion rock. The staff and food were beyond excellent. The tree top bungalows were superb and it was an overall enjoyable and trip defining experience. We very highly recommend Back of Beyond Jungle Hideaway for those that appreciate being amongst nature, with all the comforts.

老老西This is a must-see attraction for tourists in Sri Lanka. The difficulty of the climb is acceptable to most people. The view after reaching the top is good. There are many wild macaques in the scenic area at the foot of the mountain, which can be regarded as an unexpected gain of the trip.
Dambulla Cave Temple
旅旅の径The Dambulla Caves, a world cultural heritage, is the largest, most famous and best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka.
A half-day tour of the caves was arranged, and 4 impressions are still fresh in my memory.
1. The antiquity of the caves. The Dambulla Caves were built in 89 BC (some say 1st-2nd century AD), earlier than the Mogao Caves built in 366 AD in my country. After more than a thousand years of unremitting efforts, a spectacular pattern of 5 caves connected to each other was formed between the rock walls on the hillside of the giant stone (186 meters high).
2. The beauty of the statues. The 2,100 square meters of murals and 157 Buddha statues in the caves are all treasures of Buddhist art.
The most beautiful murals. The Buddha murals in Cave No. 2-Great King Cave, from the cave ceiling to the cave wall, are completed in one go, and are magnificent.
The most beautiful statues. The 14-meter-long reclining Buddha in Cave No. 1-Heavenly King Cave is huge in size, peaceful in expression, and graceful in lines.
3. Fun of monkeys. It takes more than 20 minutes to walk up the mountain road with more than 400 steps from the foot of the mountain to the cave.
All the way up, the view is wide, the air is fresh, and monkeys can be seen everywhere in groups, playing, being coy, or exercising, which are very cute. The locals told us: the reason for depositing shoes is not to prevent people from stealing, but to prevent monkeys from snatching them.
4. Pain in feet. You can only enter the cave after taking off your shoes to show your piety. The hot sand and the stones hurt your feet. My feet hurt so much... No one ever reminded me to wear thick socks.
