Just stay one night in Queenscliff and take the ferry across the sea to the Mornington Peninsula the next day. When we arrived at around six o'clock in the evening, there were no people in the town and all the shops were closed. Searching for hotels here on Ctrip, there are not many, and there are not many choices for room types suitable for a couple like us with three children. Only this one is more suitable. The disadvantage is that the bathroom is shared and there is no kitchen. According to the mobile phone text message sent by the seller, I opened the password door of the whole building and found the key to my room on the front desk. The public bathroom is very clean, and there is a tea room. The shops outside are closed, so the food we brought was heated in the microwave here. When we left the next day, we met the male owner of the house, who enthusiastically helped us show the way to the port. This building should be an old building, like a museum. Being in it feels like traveling through time, which is also a good experience! I only saw an old couple staying this night. We were the only two guests in the castle-like building. The child was a little scared and didn't dare to go to the toilet by himselfđ.
Due to an accommodation issue in Ballarat we decided to change our destination to Queenscliff. Hunting online for somewhere to stay at the last minute we found Rubyâs. What a lovely place. Ralph was very welcoming. We stayed in a two room cottage to the side of the ownerâs home. The accommodation has two spacious rooms, lounge/kitchenette area and separate bedroom with ensuite. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster and kettle along with crockery and cutlery. Lovely fresh decor with sofas and heating in both rooms. The WiFi is fast and water hot. There is a shared outdoor space with a BBQ and in ground pool. Rubyâs is situated in a quiet area and literally a couple of minutes walk from the main street of Queenscliff. Close to shops, cafes, galleries and a short walk to the water, itâs in the perfect position. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Weâd definitely stay again and would recommend as good value accommodation with style.

Caution: Think twice before booking here! Our group of six families had high hopes for this trip, primarily drawn by the promise of great amenities for our kids and the allure of firepits. We cherish the cosy atmosphere of gathering around a fire, toasting marshmallows, and the kids enjoying the colourful display of throwing rainbow coloured flame packs into the fire. Regrettably, upon arrival, we discovered that fires weren't allowed, despite being advertised otherwise. When we questioned the staff about this discrepancy, their response lacked professionalism, merely pointing to buried terms and conditions. While we understand the importance of adhering to these conditions, receiving them on the day of arrivalâhidden on page 14 of a 32-page documentâleft us feeling trapped, especially given it was a long weekend. There is a gas firepit but pretty pointless as you cannot toast marshmallows there also. Our experience was marred further by the presence of a rowdy group near the playground and toilets, who harassed our friends without provocation. Despite our concerns, there was no apology or follow-up from staff, even after learning that one other family that stayed directly accross from the considered involving the police. Additionally, the rescheduling of kids' activities without notice added to our frustration as we had other plans that same day. And when we requested to light coals for a BBQ, another favorite camp tradition, we were met with another firm no. Privacy was also lacking, with constant foot traffic through our campsite. And people that stayed in the cabins behind us kept staring uncomfortably at our camp and what we were doing... Toilets and bathrooms were disgusting, the mop and bucket was left inside in the same spot the whole weekend, made me wonder if anyone came to clean the place at all? Overall, this park fell far short of expectations. Consider yourself warned: Stay at your own risk! And make sure you read the 32 pages of terms and conditions (hopefully before your arrival) Ps they offer free WiFi that doesn't work!!! ïżŒ
This is a comfortable historic guest house with good facilities including a couple of nice lounges, a well equipped kitchen, and a nice pool and spa for the warmer months. You could tell that the hosts were trying very hard doing the little things just to make it nicer. For example, when I arrived it had been a long day with very minimal to eat so I was really happy to see a complimentary rocky road waiting for me. There was even a stand in the hallway with stuff like tea, coffee, bickies, towels etc just in case you were running short. In the evenings the hosts had always switched on the fake fireplace gas heater to make sure the lounge was nice and warm. Location wise it is about 400m to the lighthouse to watch the ships come in the heads. The bust stop coming from Geelong is about 20m from the front door, while the shops and the bus stop for the other direction are about 400m away, and it's a short bus trip to Queenscliff and the ferry. One thing though, bring some food with you. The couple of take away places were closed early in the week, while the local IGA is horrendously expensive. I hopped on the bus and did the short trip to Ocean Grove that had normal priced Aldi and Woolworths. The guest house has refrigerators and all the kitchen gear if you need it.
The hotel is on a golf course, so there are few people and it is quiet. If you arrive late, you will put the key in the safe at the door and use the phone at the door to ask for the password. The location is relatively remote, suitable for self-driving, a few minutes' drive from Sorrento
WOW! Carmelâs is simply Devine! This accomodation is stunning and is a beautiful place to rest and relax. There was plenty of room for our party of 6. Keyless entry, underground parking and access to the apartments is simple and easy. We loved the fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook, it has a coffee machine, large selection of teas and having a washing machine and dryer was fantastic. 3 bedroom apartment had spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds with plenty of pillows and blankets. 2 smart TVs and a gorgeous kitchen bathrooms and spacious lounge and dining area. The remote blinds were a nice touch and so easy to use. The balcony was huge with a BBQ and dining table. Service from Staff was exceptional they went above and beyond to provide mobility disability items for my Mum to make her stay more comfortable which was greatly appreciated. Location was perfect in the Main Street you could walk to shops and restaurants which was great. A grazing platter was a very nice gesture and was delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Carmels a perfect getaway couples, families or a group of friends.
The hotel is great. Although the room is small, the supplies are complete. The minibar in the room is free and replenished every day! The bedding is very comfortable and the sound insulation effect is also good. Even if you occasionally hear someone talking in the corridor, it does not affect your rest! The hotel swimming pool is beautiful. It's not far from the seaside, but you have to drive. The hotel's restaurant bar tastes pretty good and is suitable for drinkingđ»The atmosphere is great! The service staff at the hotel are very warm and friendly! Downstairs of the hotel is a commercial street with many stores selling clothes, swimsuits, and skin care products. This hotel is worth looking forward to!
We had a two night stay for a wedding in Sorrento. The room was spacious with a lot of little extras like plates, bowls and cutlery, dishwashing liquid and tea towel and of course the usual tea/coffee/milk. The bathroom was big with toiletries included. There was also a big TV. Everything was clean and although it is on Melbourne Road it was quiet due to the concrete walls. Would definitely stay again - the owner/proprietor was very accommodating and friendly.
