WELL WORTH A VISIT My husband and I attended Whitney’s Restaurant at the Remington Hotel on Sunday night and were very pleasantly surprised. We went there with no real expectations as too many “up market “ restaurants in Orange of late have become overpriced in both their food and wine on offer and their service leave a lot to be desired. This was not the case at Whitney’s quite the opposite. The food was not only delicious, but extremely satisfying and reasonably priced. The presentation of the desserts were impeccable and just as delicious as anything I have had at many hatted restaurants in regional and major cities. It was also refreshing to see local wines showcased and at reasonable prices for a change. The staff I must say were very welcoming and extremely professional. Ray did a wonderful job of making us feel comfortable and at ease. Brendon who had only been there for a few weeks was one of the most professional wait staff I had encountered in Orange for quite awhile, whilst also being warm and friendly, a trait very few can achieve in the hospitality industry. Although Whitney’s does not have spectacular views from inside the restaurant, you hardly notice as the decor is not only tasteful contemporary but also warmly inviting. As we live relatively close to this wonderful new restaurant, we will becoming regulars and look forward to trying more of what they have to offer.

I stayed here for one night with my daughter in Executive Queen room. Great location with fabulous views across the valley. The room was spacious and the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. A decent continental breakfast was available on a self service basis all day. All in all really impressed. Great value for money.

Room was very clean, bright (and usually quiet). Obviously used by fly in/out mine workers e.tc so lots of early morning movement. Generally speaking guests around me were considerate of the other guests’ right not to be disturbed too early. Location is great. Just a 20 min easy walk to town centre and 10 min walk to great pub dining at Robin Hood Hotel. Want to say a big thanks to the lady who checked me in. I had stuffed up my dates but she adjusted these without penalty payment. Appreciated this show of good will. I Frequent Orange several times a year. Will stay again. Cheers, Russell

What a glorious stay in Orange! From Maggie at reception greeting us by name upon our arrival (we were the last to arrive so she laughingly told us, so knew, but it was still a special touch!), to her helping us work out exactly where we were with the map, and her advise on where to eat that night and what were the specialties - the pizza bases were exactly as she described and the recommendation to Spilt Milk gelato bar was heaven!! Reception is simply gorgeous, what a beautiful space! The rooms were exactly as described and perfect for our family, 2A and 2 teens, the teens being so happy that there were 2 single beds and they didn't have to share ha ha! King sized pillows, king sized super soft bath sheets, super generous and delicious breakfast bags which was a lovely touch including local produce and ground coffee for the plunger, everything was well thought out, executed and contributed to such a perfect and fun filled weekend! Thank you again, we'll be back!

Visited Orange over a long weekend and decided to stay at Parkview. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of accommodation given its a pub. Location is by far the best in the heart of town walking distance to great eating joints, shopping and bars. Since we didnt drive, being in the centre of town was a great advantage. We booked Deluxe Room (think it was #4) which was in a small enclosed space with a common lounge area shared with other deluxe rooms. Well insulated and recently renovated. The hotel & the pub overall were well maintained and clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. They had live music on friday and saturdays which can compete with any great pub in Sydney. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Parkview Hotel to anyone visiting Orange.

Jumped in the shower the first night and noticed right at the door on the tiled floor a long hair and balled bit of paper, enough said, it hadn't been cleaned properly. The bed was dishevelled looking and mattress had a nasty slope to it, woke up with sore backs both mornings. Didn't realise it was mainly miners staying there otherwise I wouldn't have, alot ofcar doors banging etc early hours. Could hear the guy piddling in his toilet next door...yuck. Not an enjoyable stay and mentioned the shower at reception with little to no care. I always give reception a chance to right the wrongs before I review but I got nothing, its simply pretty much set up for the shift workers and that's it.

I think the cost performance is good considering the accommodation costs. The concierge was kind. Location is ok.
