16 months ago two of us stayed at this Motel and found it convenient, clean, friendly. We knew it was going under new management within a short time of our stay. January 7th four of us were booked to stay there and the deterioration is hard to credit. Actually, we were not put into the Motel, but into a "flat" two gates down - one of three. We drove behind a house, past a row of rubbish and recycle bins, to a property in a very unkempt state - weeds. long grass, toys scattered around. It seemed, on being shown into our two-bedroomed place, that it was at least more presentable than the surrounds and perhaps clean. We had to go straight out to relations so only got the full impression on our return about 10.00pm. the curtains in the second bedroom - one was lined, one was not, and both were torn. Curtains in the sitting room hung without hooks. One mirror for the whole lace, which was in the shared bathroom - which had no lock on the door. Comprised basin, bath with shower over it (dubious shower curtain) and toilet. At least one of the facecloths provided was completely threadbare, towels felt greasy. Kitchen bench dirty, no dusting anywhere. Clearly marked hot tap in kitchen produced cold water, and the cold one, hot. Sheets seemed clean (not so the extra blankets provided) so we managed to stay for our one night, but left without having breakfast. None of us felt we could eat in that kitchen, or from any surfaces. Mine host seemed surprised and upset when I told him we had not had a good experience. It was probably our worst stay ever, second to a Motel in Murchison some years ago. We had stayed in two Azure Motels prior to Cashel Court - and they were lovely, also $30 less per night than Cashel Court Motel charged us - which was $249 for the night.
