Woolpack Inn

Book a one night stay here, Although check in wasn't until 2, We got to the pub at 12, the young girl we dealt with at the bar/reception was helpful and friendly,we had a drink and had a light lunch, I had a sandwich and my wife had a prawn cocktail, both were delicious, Went to our room around 2, it was a nice size, clean, nice comfy bed and there was plenty of tea and coffee, The one small criticism would be no dressing table with a mirror for my wife to do her hair/makeup, Went back in the pub later for more drinks and also dinner, which again was delicious, the pub itself was really nice and the staff were freindly. The hotel and the food in the pub were great value for money, We will definitely stay here again,

Lots of good points but very thin walls! So many good things about The Woolpack... comfy bed, lovely towels, fresh flowers, good breakfast, helpful staff etc. BUT, and it's a big but... the walls of Room 6 were like tissue paper - we might as well have been sharing a room with the people next door! This is why we won't be staying here again.

Very uncomfortable bed.....hot water way too hot ,no cold water coming through in shower so couldnt use it as hot was dangerous

Booked this for after a day out to Petworth House because we didn't want to drive home in the dark, and we were very pleasantly surprised by what we got for our money. The accommodation is in a separate purpose-built area in the grounds, and our room was at the end - facing the main road but beautifully quiet. There were so many lovely touches, not least the fresh flowers on the window sill and an inscription on the side of the wardrobe telling us about the person after whom the room was named. There was a kettle, mugs and plentiful tea, coffee and milk, and a drinking water machine in the foyer area if we wanted water. Someone had unplugged the radiator so it was a tad chilly when we arrived, so we plugged it in and after more than a little head scratching we managed to set the timer and thereafter were lovely and snug. A comfy bed and well-stocked bathroom added to our pleasure. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food - both the carvery on Friday night and breakfast on Saturday - was excellent.

Near Miss TV fell off the wall and nearly hit me on the head. Uncomfortable beds and paper thin walls. Shame as in a good location.

Great position Great staff. The hotel position is very good with walks down to the creek and mill pond very close. The garden was good and the service was good with extremely friendly staff. Unfortunately the bedroom room was disappointing. There were cobwebs and spiders in the corners of the room and ceiling. The bath around the taps are mouldy and some of the pipes where they met the wall are rusty. Its a shame a little more attention to detail would make all the difference.
