Rodeway Inn Chicago/Evanston

DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst hotel experience ever. We got a room here to stay in after a concert we came to town for. Checked in a bit early but the room wasn't ready so we went and grabbed a bite to eat. We then came back to the room for a bit dropped our stuff off and headed out to go to the concert. Came back around midnight to settle in for the night. My wife went in to use the bathroom and when she sat down... the toilet cracked and pinched her leg. She yelled out to me because water was running everywhere. I immediately turned the water supply off to the toilet. I then got dressed and went to the front desk to tell them what happened. On the way out I found that water had run down into the hall downstairs. Even though i turned the water off as soon as i could. I was told by the man at the desk that there were no other rooms and that there was nothing he could do for me. "The toilet was fine at 3... this is your fault" he said. I couldn't believe he was trying to say we were responsible for the faulty toilet. I explained that we couldn't stay in a room with no toilet."I can't do anything for you" he stated. I then asked for a refund since the room was unfit and they had no toilet for us to use. I was refused a refund and was told I "would here from them Monday " He wouldn't even come look at what happened. I had no choice but to check out and begin my 5 hour drive towards home. I found another hotel outside of Chicago on the way home.

Great hotel for the price.

The woman who was at the check in desk was great and very helpful. Had to run the shower for 30 minutes before the water got wary.

The air started to make noise around 1 am and at the reception they didn't help me until the morning, are you serious? My stay was only one night, to REST and it was the least I could do.

Illegal bait and switch upon checking in. 3 of our five nights were charged more than we already paid. We could not check in unless we agreed and signed new prices. Owner woman is a angry woman and beyond unpleasant. Required a $60 deposit that 60 days later we still have not been refunded. Wish to warn others of this super shady place. The States Attorney is investigating their criminal check in practices which makes me happy.
