Ivy Boutique Hotel

Location: The property is praised for its fantastic and central location, close to Michigan Avenue and various attractions, making it convenient for exploring Chicago.

I requested that they make the extra bed, but they didn't, and at night there were "no sheets." The second night, they didn't make the extra bed either, leaving the linens folded. The third and fourth nights were fine. The coffee maker was dirty. The safe died with our things inside, and we had to wait until the next day for the maintenance man to arrive.

This hotel is in an excellent location, you can walk to Millenium Park, the Chicago Museum of Art, The Museum of Contemporary Art, etc. We got a king suite and it was larger than my first one bedroom apartment. The living room is huge, has motorized curtains, and plenty of seating. The king bedroom is large, has a bench at the end of the bed, reading lights, and since it is separated from the street by the living room the noise and street lights are very diminished. The bathroom has double sinks, a soaking tub, a walk in shower with both a rain shower head and a wand. The mirror in the bathroom even has a built in screen with remote control so you can watch TV while soaking in the tub. There is a wet bar with real glasses and coffee cups and the in-room coffee was very good. Check-in is at the bar and the staff were great. There is free coffee in the lobby in the morning and orange infused water the rest of the day. There is no real restaurant in the place but you can get breakfast and lunch/dinner items at the bar, they will even give you plastic utensils and napkins. Be aware that the food is heated in something called a "Kitchenless" and is steamed, I think. However, there are so many options for food just feet away from the front entrance. Also, the website mentions their "Sky Terrace" on the 16th floor but that is only open for private events.
