No sé ni por dónde empezar. Fuimos cinco amigos y nos metieron a cuatro en una habitación, con dos camas y una litera, y a uno solo en otra. La habitación poco iluminada. En el baño la puerta no cerraba, la ducha no tenía casi presión y salía muy muy caliente sin posibilidad de regularla. En cuatro días no pasaron ni una sola vez a limpiar la habitación. Le dijimos al segundo día que por favor nos limpiaran la habitación y arreglaran la ducha y no lo hicieron. En la habitación donde estaba mi amigo solo más de lo mismo. La ducha en lugar de muy caliente salía fría. La segunda noche no se pudo cerrar el grifo. Se le dijo a recepción y dijo que pasarían al día siguiente, por lo que estuvo toda la noche cayendo agua. En fin, un verdadero desastre de hotel. Lo único bueno que tiene es la ubicación.

La ubicación es genial; la atención de todos los empleados, magnífica, cordial; el tamaño del cuarto standard, excelente; la cama, maravillosa; el baño, correcto (falta un poco de presión de agua, pero apenas); está cerca de todo (de Michigan Ave, de una gran pizzería como Pizano's, del metro, de los buses, del Hancock). Pero: el bar y restaurante está cerrado; los vending no tienen nada; y lo que es intolerable es que no hay housekeeping, con el argumento de la pandemia. Ni siquiera cumplieron su compromiso de limpiar al tercer día; estuve cinco, jamás limpiaron. Eso es, cuando estás cinco días completos, bastante molesto. Volvería, pero con este requisito cumplido. I expected old, run down, and no extras based on the price I booked it for, but this was worse. Number 1, the AC not working would’ve been better, it actually blew hot air. So when I got into the room the thermostat said 80. After turning the ac on, and lowering the temp I waited for it to cool down. Couple minutes later I checked and the thermostat was up to 82. I check the vents and it’s actually blowing hot air. I ended up turning the ac off, putting a roll of toilet paper to keep the window up a little. Ambien was the only reason I was able to sleep.

La nostra agenzia ha prenotato questa struttura spacciandola per 4 stelle, ma in verità è un hotel 3 stelle posizionato alla fine del magnificente mile. Abbastanza comodo per girare la città ma sicuramente è lontano dal the loop (zona centrale della città). La struttura si presenta sporca e poco curata, camere vecchie. Staff cordiale e disponibile a pulirci per 2 volte la camera e rifarci il letto. Attenzione: non c'è il cambio asciugamani giornalieri. What a total dissapointment. Right now, we are waiting for some from the front desk to show up to collect our luggage from the storage room, as well as other guests too to be attended. Long wait, but no one at the front desk. We had no cleaning service for the 2 nights that we stayed, slippery bathtubs, so it´s no safe for elder guests and my room had a permanent water dripping sound from the air conditioning system. No nice smiles at the front desk. Never coming back.

Primero nos dieron una habitacion donde la cama estaba a casi 1 metro de,altura, muebles rotos, ventanas extremadamente sucias y teniamos la escalera de emergencia sobre el vidrio. Las canillas de la ducha funcionan mal y la banadera tarda en desagotar por lo cual uno,se bana con agua sucia en los pies.No limpian los cuartos todos los dias .. llegamos a las 6 de la tarde de recorrer la ciudad y la cama estaba sin hacer y el cuarto sin limpiar. Pedimos que lo hicieran y nos dijeron que no se podia debido a,que no habia personal . Ese dia nos tuvimos que cambiar de cuarto. El personal del front desk muy maleducado, no estan preparados para atender un hotel. en la cocina comun vimos como una pasajera vaciaba el plato del perro en la pileta y no limpiaba. EL anafe no funciona. El edificio en general es de muy mal gusto y hay sectores abandonados que parecen la casa de dracula. Nada recomendable... mejor olvidar la experiencia.

I sleep in dozens of hotels a year, both for work and leisure travel. I seldom leave reviews. But opinions are so split on Selina Chicago that I feel compelled. First, I found it clean throughout. The common spaces were fun and quirky-- definitely not cookie cutter. As for the rooms, my room 608 was solid 4 star: great bed, fresh remodel. The only downsides were wall-to-wall carpeting that could use a refresh, and dated bathroom (clean, but with a 1970s style low wide toilet, etc). And a slow shower drain that left you in 3 inches of water after a 5 minute shower. That's always gross. I suspect opinions differ on Selina because it is essentially TWO hotels in one: a hostel and a hotel. These are separated by floor. The second floor has common areas incl small kitchen, "cinema room," meeting room, and bar/lounge area. If you're looking for a hotel (as opposed to a hostel-- I can't speak to that), ignore the negative reviews. This is a clean, charming, non-cookie-cutter 3.5 star hotel in a very convenient location (pro tip: Jeni's ice cream one block away has the BEST ice cream ever). and very reasonably priced for the neighborhood.

This property's poor scores and negative reviews are justified. During my visit on a weekend, I encountered issues upon entering. While the staff, especially the Asian gentleman at the front desk, were hospitable, the overall atmosphere was lacking smiles from guests. My room had a mildew smell, noisy AC, outdated decor, and dirty carpet. I received a room change to a slightly better one, but it still had most of the same issues. Additionally, there was no housekeeping or fridge in the room, despite being a standard private room rate. Unless moved to a renovated room, I won't return.

Unfortunately, the hotel was not up to standards. It is a very old building, and the room we stayed at, was not visually appealing (the pictures online, are not what you’re likely to book). The bathroom is from the 1920’s or older and it was not close to Millenium Park and Grant Park. To make matters worse, we bought and labeled our Trader Joe’s paper bag to keep our food inside the fridge to eat it for breakfast the next day, and it was STOLEN! The owner of this building needs to ultimately renovate the hotel and come up with a better system to not allow for people’s food to be stolen. At least there weren’t any bed bugs lol. That would’ve been a big NO NO for me.
