Pleasant enough place to stay, but there's never any staff on site and the walls are so thin and aircon/fridge so loud, you'll need earplugs to sleep. Close to a 7-eleven and some eateries, plus the Blue Line to O'Hare is just around the corner and downtown is walkable.

Nicely appointed big room with good kitchen and clothes washer/dryer Comfy bed Problem is if anyone talks any where approaching loud and for some reason mobile phone conversations often fit this description - you join the conversation TV from next door may as well be in your room Not pleasant

Would stay again
Location was perfect. Room was very nice and clean. Check in was easy and the elevator worked no problem. The luggage storage was great to have, except our door code didn’t work before it was checkin time. We were able to get in as someone left, luckily. Otherwise I’m not sure what we would have done. Like others stated, walls are very thin, but didn’t bother us any. Water and ice from ice maker tasted really gross, we had to go to the 7 Eleven down the street to get drinkable water. The bed felt like it was going to break underneath us and sunk in quite a bit. Was a bit disappointed with that. Overall it was a good stay and really the positives outweighed the negatives.

More red tape than I’ve ever experienced before to line up a room reservation — then more hassle than I’ve ever experienced before to access a building and a room. I was afraid to leave the room in case I faced more access codes that didn’t work. Frustration and anxiety ruined my stay in Chicago.

Excellent location, very close to union station and public transport with plenty of buses and subway stops early. Apartment is well equipped with everything a visitor needs, including soap and shampoo supplies in bathroom, washing machine pods, dishwasher tablets. Extremely comfortable bed and fully equipped kitchen. Restaurants and groceries a short walk away. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Chicago. Only downside is the lack of sound insulation, you can hear people in apartments above moving around.

Feels like a luxury apartment not a hotel. Also even though there's no front desk, if you have any issues they can get someone over to fix anything the same day. Definitely using them again.

I stayed at the Sonder overnight between two long-distance trains. If you are traveling through Union Station, this is a perfect option. It’s basically across the street from the station, and it was also good for some low-intensity exploring in the area. The room was clean, comfortable, and since I was between train trips I really appreciated the opportunity to do laundry in my unit.
I was skeptical at first of the app-driven check-in and check-out. There are no employees at the location, although I assume if something goes wrong they can send someone. But it all worked without a hitch, and I’m sold on the concept now.
