Hotel Grand Palace Chennai

I was visiting this hotel for a Business Trip, Solo. The booking was done by my company through Makemytrip using MyBiz. The room which was booked at "Hotel Grand Palace, 4004, Chromepet, Chennai" was no-where closer to the pictures posted about the hotel on MakeMyTrip. The condition of the hotel is extremely bad. The pictures of the place shown on the website of MakeMyTrip are totally outdated and far from reality. The actual hotel is a nightmare. They showed me 2 rooms but all the rooms are in the same condition. There was paint peeling off on the walls inside the room, it is infested with small cockroaches everywhere, the corridors have ash trays filled with filth lying around. They say the Air conditioning is centralised but it is not working, there are no windows in the room, the place is suffocating as there is no fresh air circulation of any kind. The entire place has a stink. I cannot support this claim with pictures as you have to experience it to check the reality. The bathrooms are in horrible condition. Attaching a few actual pictures of the room for your reference. Further being a female traveler the place looks unsafe too. Kindly request you to avoid booking such hotels depending on photos and ratings provided by MakeMyTrip as they are far from reality. I never stayed there, i checked out immediately after seeing the condition, but hotel is not ready to refund the money. I had to go through such an ordea to find a better and safe place to stay in a city where I don't know the local language and communication was extremely difficult. Lastly, we requested MakeMyTrip to refund the money for the said booking. This was the least they could do to make us feel better for the trouble I had to go through for booking through them. But they are declining it saying that the hotel is not giving the refund. What is the point of booking through a travel aggregator if they don't want to take onus of showing the real picture of a place or atleast accept the mistake and refund.
