Perfect view. Great little rooms and well appointed. This inn offers a lot. It’s dated but it’s got everything you need. The balcony views are stunning and they provide local takeaway numbers to order late night snacks. Tea and coffee in the rooms. Smart TV which we logged into our Netflix. The staff are wonderful. Has a pool and a large rest area for breakfast.

We loved our stay at River View Inn on Lookout Mountain! We had a very comfortable bed, balcony with rocking chairs overlooking the Tennessee River. The staff was very friendly and it was a very clean well run inn. Loved the fire pit and location for our three night stay!

Absolutely lovely. Our room was welcoming, clean, and nicely appointed. The staff was friendly. The view from our room, porch was nice, facing east and overlooking the city. It was a great sunrise spot. We visited during a heat wave so very much enjoyed finishing the day with a dip in the refreshing saltwater. The pool and poolside area, like the room was exceedingly clean. The pool furniture was in good condition and pool towels were provided. Continental breakfast each morning. The quality and little details (e.g., plush towels and plenty of them) we don’t generally find in accommodations charging a comparable rate. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friends.

I've waited a long time to write this review. We had been to Riverview Inn multiple times over the past couple years and for the most part enjoyed it-- in fact really enjoyed it. This last visit was the icing on the cake. First, as we were driving in on a Friday night we received a call from the employee at the front desk asking us when we would arrive because she wanted to go home. When we got to the inn, our heater in the room was not working properly and we were uncomfortable all night long. Breakfast which is not much to speak of to begin with was over by the time we got up (not particularly late) so we were forced to go down the mountain to Waffle House. While the manager dud come to fix the heater, multiple other things didn't work in the room and I got nothing but a contemptuous attitude from their college aged staff. The piece de resistance was when I hear the front the same one who called us on the road) badmouthing me to another guest. And make no mistake, the walls are paper thin. If you want an over priced, uncomfortable night then this is your place. We ended up having to move hotels.

My first impression was that this was a nice little hotel with terrific views- and that’s true. But after listening to our upstairs neighbor stomp around all evening we realized this is not a well built vacation spot. And when we poked our heads out to see what the noise was all about I also realized the staff must never clean outside the doors because there was a massive spider web over the door with a large spider hanging out. When I looked around a little more I could see webs all over the stair handrails too. We were woke up multiple times by the next door neighbors and their dog as well as by the cleaning staff who decided that 6 am was an optimal time to clean- loudly. It’s a cute place but really lacking in good management as no one is available if you have a problem. If you want a peaceful stay this is not the place.

Be aware of the fact that you will be charged a $25.00 Resort Fee. I have no clue what that covers because the breakfast is very bland and your room will not be serviced at all while you are there. You will make up your bed. You will have to request fresh towels. Breakfast is not put out until 8:30, which is entirely too late, especially in a city where the activities like Ruby Falls start their tours at 8:00. Also, based on the small amount of food that was put out each day, regardless of the number of guests staying there, you need to be there at 8:30 in order to get some of the food. Once food is put out, no staff member comes back to restock until 9:30 or later. Also, if you try to call to ask for more food to be put out, no one answers the phone. FYI - we ate breakfast three days. The same exact food items were put out each day. There was no variety. Also, if traveling with a group or several family members, the individual rooms are too small to socialize. The facility has a room, the Skybox, large enough to gather in and socialize and catch up. The problem with this is that the staff locks this room at 8:00. We were there playing cards as a family and had to leave at 8:00. Why can't the facility leave it open until 11:00? The location is convenient to all activities on Lookout Mountain and it is easy to get to from downtown Chattanooga. The view from your deck is outstanding. This was out third stay at the River View. The other two stays were while COVID restrictions were in place. I have to say that we honestly received more service during that time than we received this stay. We probably will not stay here again. We might as well stay in downtown Chattanooga. At least those hotels provide services to justify the prices they charge.

Met my best friend there for our quarterly weekend together. Absolutely loved the location and ambiance. Also, the room wasn't decorated with the typical hotel decor. Instead, the beds were 4 poster beds with lovely quilts. The room was shabby chic, very cozy feel. Mostly, the vistas from the room's balcony were gorgeous! Will be returning with my husband very soon.

I called and made appointment, including for my pet. When I arrived I paid up front and never looked at my receipt. The facility wanted to charge me a pet fee at a later time, although I had told them about multiple issues which I listed below. The pull out bed was soiled with crumbs, stained sheets, and plastic knife. I decided to sleep on the couch vs the bed because it was not clean and it was too late to notify staff. The hours for breakfast only allowed guests 1 1/2 hrs and I already booked and paid for tickets to Ruby Falls which fell exactly within those hours having to spend additional 40.00 for breakfast eating somewhere else. One paper they handed me with breakfast times was different than other paperwork they gave me, which was conflicting. The manager was not there (vacationing) per staff and a young girl there wanted to charge me pet fee although I had complained about having major issues with my stay. I asked for the manager not to charge my credit card till I had a chance to speak with the manager and for her to call me. This manager when she returned from vacation did not call me, but instead charged my credit card without my approval. Will notify my credit card about illegal charging. Will keep all customers reading this review updated on resolving this matter. A very unprofessional place with their staff and they are under staffed with cleaning, very brief breakfast hours due to staffing issues. Do not recommend. Yolanda C.
