Tanya was amazing and so incredibly welcoming and kind. Sue was a great bartender but what made her stand out was I was talking about my experience at breakfast and said how well the staff was she gave me a card and told me to review the morning staff so people knew what a great experience I had. I loved talking to her and she could make a delicious drink but I loved she was a person who cared about those she worked with!! Jim, the guest ambassador was also a pleasure. Mostly because I didn’t know he was an ambassador until after I asked to sign up for vacation club. The hotel was clean. Great location and staff was amazing.

Based on all the good reviews, I was looking forward to my stay here. However, I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. I didn’t realize how old the hotel is. I thought I was at the wrong location when I pulled into the parking lot. The room assigned to me had a musty smell, the bathroom sink was cracked and both door handles were separating from the bathroom door. The front desk lady offered to move me to another room when I mentioned the issues with the sink and door handles. My main purpose for bringing these issues to the front desk’s attention was to make sure they were aware of preexisting damage to the room so I would not be charged. I found out that they were already aware of these issues, but they are still renting the room as is. The lady at check in was cordial. However, the young lady at checkout needs additional customer service training. She was very rude. She did not smile when I approached her. She simply said “How can I help you?” in a nasty manner. After turning in my keys, she asked me if I wanted a receipt. I said “Yes, please.” She handed me my receipt. I said “Thank you.” She said absolutely nothing. How rude was that? The proper thing would have been to ask me how my stay was, thank me for staying there and to ask me to come again.

While the location is ideal - we were within walking distance of all the touristy spots the hotel itself didn't meet our Hyatt level expectations. We booked a one bedroom ”suite”. The living space was a good sized area. The bedroom was extremely small. Not enough room to open our suitcase on the stand so we put it in the living area. The bathroom was super close to the bed and because there wasn't enough space to have a standard door, there was a sliding door that didn't have a guide on the bottom or a handle to fully pull the door closed. Because of this and the lock not working we couldn't ”close” the bathroom door or have privacy while using the bathroom. It felt more like an extended stay hotel than the Hyatt we've become accustomed to. Parking was either valet or use the public parking garage right next to the hotel. We chose public parking for the cost. After walking King Street - If we visit Charleston again we'll stay elsewhere.

As many folks have already commented, this is a dated hotel that feels a little cramped and claustrophobic. The rooftop bar is nice. The hotel elevators can get overwhelmed during peak hours. The things I liked were the price and the central location. It was convenient to downtown, James Island, N. Charleston, the plantation gardens, etc. Additionally, when it costs ＞$500 night to stay anywhere downtown, this hotel with its free parking is a reasonable choice. What I disliked the most was pulling out of the parking lot. The hotel is situated on a very busy road, and whether you're exiting north or south, you're contending with very fast traffic and blind spots. You really need to be alert. In summary, a very dated but reasonably priced hotel.

The environment of the hotel is very good, the air is fresh and the environment is beautiful. Opposite the room is the harbor where the yachts dock. Going out for dinner is a bit awkward, and there is no problem with driving. However, the hotel has a shuttle bus to and from the city center, so overall it is ok.

Very good hotel, good location, convenient eating and shopping, good breakfast, good service at the front desk.

Great spot! Perfect location to downtown,loved it !!Though the weather was nasty!

Though the hotel itself needed some updating the staff was extremely helpful. I forgot my toiletries bag as well as hair gel. Oliva and Madison at the front desk were able to get me everything I needed quickly. I was in for business meetings so these two saved the day and allowed me to make my meetings on time. They also called into a local restaurant they recommend and were able to secure a reservation for my customers and I on the day of. Everyone enjoyed the recommendation. I will be back thanks to these two and their hospitality. Great location!
