Santuario Beach Hostel

Spectacular service, views and food! We had a rough start with some pressured days in the city…we should have come directly here! It’s true about some nights having too much music, neighbours etc…know where you’re going! This is an amazing spot that offers a bit of everything, with HAPPY staff who would love to help with anything you ask. It’s a place to feel at home and feel like a princess. We loved; tranquil ocean, bonfires, Moscow mules, dancing on the beach under the bright moon and the city view, climbing the hill for sunset, yummy food, playing our songs, comfy beds. Yo vuelvo en OTRA OCASIÓN 🤣 I’ll be back, Pura vida and thank you all for making some of my most memorable days ever 🤩
Hotel Galeria la Trinidad

The hotel is located in Getsemani, near several restaurants and bars, colourful streets and center! They say it has hot water, but it did not work most of the time, when it worked was very weak water, impossible to wash her hair. I was unfortunately in the room with a door for reception, i.e. almost zero privacy and noise always, because it gives people and cars to listen to passing by the street, and people speaking at the reception! Wi-Fi worked well all the time. Breakfast is very simple, a fruit and eggs with bread and coffee! It is made at the time, it is not buffet! Reception staff always very sympathetic and attentive, congratulations to the team, both girls and the youngest boy who stays at night!

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable. It is very close to Rafael Nuñez International Airport, you can walk, people are very kind, make you feel like at home, especially Beto :) The area is quiet, but everywhere in the world you always have to walk carefully. The room is comfortable, the rich breakfast, especially the coffee with milk :) It has kitchen so if you want you can make the food****. When I come back to Cartagena, I will certainly come back to this place :)

The Clock Hostel & Suites

Cool place right in center of walled city. Comfortable and clean. Forms with curtains were great, and we also had a private room. Pool/jacuzzi looked kind of yucky so we didn’t use it. Breakfast was good. Our family (2 adults and 1 teen) had a private room plus 1 dorm bed. Private room didn’t have windows and was a little stuffy, but it was ok. No hot water. The vibe/decor was nice and interesting.
Media Luna Hostel Cartagena

I stayed in Media Luna hostel in January. On my first night, I had a problem with a man in my dorm room so I went to the reception to ask for help. FIVE times I went to the reception and the man told me there was nothing he could do to help me and that I had to wait until around 10pm for the night manager to come and then he might be able to help me. As a young, solo female traveller I was feeling very upset and uncomfortable, the reception were no help at all so I decided to book a hotel room. As I was leaving for the hotel room, the night manager arrived and said that the man who I had a problem with would be kicked out of the hostel when he arrived back (at this point the man had gone out for the night). Luckily, I still went to the hotel room because when the man came back he was let in and, due to a member of staff telling a resident what was going on (as well as telling them my name and age which is confidential information), she began a fight and beat him to the point that he had to go to hospital. The police got involved and it was all quite a frightening experience. Therefore, I would really advise females travelling to Cartagena to avoid this hostel as you will not be given any help in these situations and they do not protect your private information.
